It's a 12 episode series with a lot to work with, but it utilizes none of it... This anime could easily be a 50+ episode anime, but takes extreme shortcuts with fight scenes that could be so much better. It has so much potential and ruins it by speeding up the process of the whole story while still leaving some suspense at the end of episodes. It could be amazing, but they made it decent and way too short for what they were working with.

This show is about two people who go to another world. Something I would love to do as earth is boring and full of corruption and humans who only care about themselves. It would be wonderful to be in a world of magic and the ability to work as an adventure. Living a decent life not worrying about the craziness of today's society.
However one thing that would separate me from these two characters is I would have zero problem killing bad people. I don't get allowing horrible people to keep roaming free. The female can use magic elements really well while the male is a summoner who also uses physical attacks. Now the female could do very easily just cast water bubbles on the faces of her enemies killing them by not letting them breathe. Super easy and no blood for her to freak out about. The male uses his hands. But why just use swords or axes or daggers and eliminate your enemies. When he fought this Elemental he could have very easily just killed the caster and saved himself a ton of trouble later on. I don't get why these animes don't kill their enemies. It is so much easier to get rid of bad people then to let them escape and do worse to others.
Either way this show is fun and worth watching.

Badly written characters, terrible MC, boring villains. I did not like anyone in this show except for probably Anastasia because i thought she was cute and made this somewhat bearable, buuut they killed her off for no reason making me even more mad and gave the MC even more plot armor than before. Even the animation is so sloppy. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

I just got down watching the 8th episode it was a complete let down the fights weren't good the mc is always acting like a baby instead on actually doing something even tho hes apparently the most powerful person in the world he's weak at least make him go berserk on a whole army and at this point just make a harem anime.

I just finished watching the fourth episode and man, this series is depressing. There is no passion in anything that has happened so far. Its lazy, commercial even. The animation is cheap. It reminds me of those first Pokemon episodes in the 90s where there is no detail to anything, all the characters are generic and the director decides to freeze shots as much as possible because it saves money.

At first it was good but in season 7 when anna died made me dislike the show a little because it was a dumb way to die and personally I thought she was the best character in the show. If she didn't die and she and taichi ended up together I would of personally loved the series and give it a 8/10 or higher. That scene made me really sad. Also if you gonna introduce a character, you should not kill them off so fast at least make them live longer and make it so taichi is furious with rage during her dead because in the scene where she died i didn't really get a rell good, sad expression from taichi.
Watch this only if you have nothing else

I watched all of it, it's boring as crap. It feels a bit forced, like when you have to do a project that isn't in any way inspiring to do. The animation is as trash as dialogues. Incredibly simplistic and also some of the details in the series are skipped, like the progress in the first episodes or even major fight scenes when it doesn't show how they fight, yet they are all tired.
All of this looks like they just want to do a visual novel kind of game, where all you get is the dialogue and a bit of gifs, lmao. Uber generic story and very uninteresting characters, after like 3 episodes there isn't any character development. I have no idea why they didn't put all the $ into a movie like animation which is around 1 or 1:30hr long, instead push 12 episodes of boredom that even the dub voice actors don't believe in xD. Very unauthentic and isn't even finished with this (first) season. Better go watch Hataage! I watched that anime before this one and that one will blow you away.

A "newer" entry to the Isekai field, "Cheat Mage" lacks anything to distinguish it it beyond an intro from "Myth & Roid".
The characters are flat, dialog is terrible (even the Sub's), the "story" is unoriginal, combat is uninspired, the evil "mastermind" is anything but and tropes are shoehorned in everywhere.
Even the anime's name is a bad choice when referring to protagonist, there is no "cheating" or clever use of his powers.
I'd suggest rewatching one of the "greats" over slogging through all 12 episodes.

The first dubbed episode just dropped and from the beginning I'm not expecting much at all. The characters are generic and point out the most obvious things, at times it feels the script is ripped straight from a manga. The most noticeable flaws are that the animation has dull color and the voice actors sound like they are reading from a script without passion. In summery the series is a dull isekai and fails in comparison to most others.

As regular high school students Taichi and Rin disappeared in a beam of light. When they came to, the two of them were already in a world of swords and magic. Finally getting away after experiencing an attack by monsters, following the suggestion of adventurers they headed on the path towards the guild. In the guild, the two of them found out that they possessed unbelievably powerful magic. Thus the regular high school students transformed into the strongest cheats.
I admit toward the beginning of I was actually really enjoying this series i actually thought there was going to be an interesting series. With two students going to another world but it just felt generic at the end.
My overall opinion meh. Want something better go watch The rising of the shield hero, Sword Art Online, Accel Worlds or Konosuba then this boring anime.
But hey at least the dub was decent.

Loved the action, it was actually hard to tell who would win in many battles. Cool plot line, awesome monsters, well-developed characters, great animations. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews-it's an awesome anime and my fiancé and I watched it together and really enjoyed it. Also, there is no sex and no male nudity and very few inappropriate scenes and most of that is characters talking about other characters. Hope they make a second season!

This has to be one of the most boring anime I've watched especially in the isekai genre this show just doesn't do anything you need that all of the characters are bland the only one thing this show does not seem to partake in is harem whether or not you like them or not is up to you but none of the girls are even worth adding to one anyways and that doesn't even mention how bland the mailman character is I don't mind overpowered characters but this one is just bland he has nothing else about him every single person on the good team without nuance are purely good they won't kill anybody if they're human they got pulled into the world to fight another army even though the army doesn't outnumber them and is the one going on the attack that makes absolutely no sense magic is such a big deal in this series but only the kingdom has magic so that doesn't make any sense either and then of course the characters forgive them for ripping them out of their world in like 10 seconds of course none of the bad guys are killed and there's some evil mastermind behind it with the soul goal of I don't even know I guess to test the main character with that also just doesn't make any sense why would you get the person you want to I guess convert to your team one day to hate you would you not want to play both sides or at least to make yourself out to be the good guy animation wise just like the show it's very mid the art style I mean the fight scenes are painfully bad there's absolutely no substance to the fight scenes the character just clumsily punches the enemies if I had to think of the most generic series this would definitely be one of them it just doesn't bring anything it's not even a good isekai the world they are in is beyond bland the monsters they fight are very weak and rare so it's not like that's a big plot it's all focused around some big bad hidden in the background guy it's not mysterious it's stupid the opening song is played by myth and roid they're known for overlord ops and do a great job honestly their talent was wasted on this because the song was way better than the animation for the op like the main girl isn't even remotely waifu material she's anime cute and that's about it of course the characters are too cowardly to say their feelings for one another because have to have that generic note they went out of their way not to make this a harem anime but yet they still go down the route of the character not having the confidence to do that for some reason the support characters are just as poor the mentor swaps on a note too often she'll be very serious one minute and then just turns around her entire view the next till I guess look more sympathetic it doesn't work they killed off one character were supposed to care about and they didn't even give her enough time to be developed or cared about they introduce two lolis and I don't remember seeing them ever again after that I mean I kind of felt like they would be somewhat important because of how the anime treated them but apparently not the problem is there's no over glaring problem that makes this show awful it's just a bunch of mediocre decisions I did watch the anime dubbed and it is very bland the voice actors that did not even try which is highly disappointing but it definitely doesn't do the show any favors I don't know how it is in Japanese and I'm definitely not rewatching this to find out I don't think it would change anything even if I did though even if the voice acting is better in Japanese it still wouldn't fix this show I cannot recommend it I will finish it and that is about it I am almost done with two episodes left I don't see it getting fixed in these last two episodes it will probably get even worse find something better is all I got to say unless you want to eat just a piece of white bread with nothing else not even toasted just a piece of white bread this is what this show is you're not going to be offended by eating a piece of white untoasted bread but you're also not going to enjoy it this show also doesn't have anything memorable I'm only finishing it because I prefer to finish most series I start I very rarely stop watching a good show even if it's bad so I will finish this and then hopefully find something good afterwards.

I read all bad reviews but honestly the show is good. Good character build and remember they don't know what is going on. They come into it not knowing they are powerful. So stop bashing it for slow start. It gives a great progression and story that tells the story it tells. So my judgment is yall to judgemental
