It's funny how Lindsey Ellis started out as a cheap joke about gender-swapped roles with the Nostalgia Critic. Where Doug Walker sank with the Nostalgia Critic, Lindsey Ellis soared out of her role as Nostalgia Chick and into her own as YouTube's best critic. She combines sarcastic wit and intelligent critique seamlessly without relying on gimmicks or spontaneous skits. Her video essays are layered, patient, and explore deeper and more mature themes.
The story of the Nostalgia Critic is a tragic farce, but the story of Lindsey Ellis is a uplifting dramedy.

Linsey Ellis has a very smart and interesting take on film and literature. She weaves snarky sarcastic humor with interesting opinions on things like literature, film and TV. Although Ellis can have a polarizing opinions, it does stir intriguing conversations and debates from her points.

A failed attempt at trying to give cohesive narrative essays and just seems like a complete bore while doing it.
