Childhood Animation for Adults
charingkam22 January 2020
Based on the first episode, it isn't the most original of concepts, but it does what it sets out to do admirably - provide the fun of classic animation, but geared for adults, continuing DC's reign when it comes to animation.

La desente visión de este icónico mercenario
ramoncitotres25 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is not bad It is unspectacular enough for an in-depth story about Deathstroke, but there are a few moments when you get bored in the middle of the movie. The animation is very well done as the design of Deathstroke, to compare it with some other Deathstroke in live action, it is at the level of the Titans series and Batman: Arkham Origina (my favorite designs of the character in live action and in a videogame) The roles that Jericho and Rose Wilson take here are pretty decent, and the relationship between these two is well carried by the relationship they both have with their father. Adeline Wilson (Jericho's mother) is undoubtedly the worst character in the film, if she was also a military man and even after leaving Slade and Jericho's disappearance she should understand in a certain way what her husband was going through being someone who only knows war, and at least he had to ask him for an explanation of why and what he was doing, since both in the first act of the movie and when Slade left his wife and son he had already disintegrated much of HIVE, a corporation of evil, and helped with an antihero doing good even if he had to kill someone In short, Adeline is a woman who just wants to get away without knowing if it is good bad or if it is something fantastic as the definitive cure for cancer 7.6 / 10

Short, sweet and simple

Loved all the characters, story was good too. Animation style was decent and action was intense. DC can never go wrong with their animated stuff.

You're in for a Surprise
Subhankar03526 August 2020
You may or may not expect a good story with a character like Slade Wilson who is shady at best and mostly shown as a carnal being. But you would be surprised the writers worked out the story of one of the most skilled nemesis of Batman and the Titans into a story of family and complex desires of soldiers who are out of commission.

Written and directed beautifully, this movie joins the legion of DC animated masterpieces. With art looking unfinished and unpolished here there, it provides a good cinematic experience with visceral action sequences and twist and turns in the stories very fabric. The title although is metaphoric but the plot lives upto it.

Apparently DC fans today need highly graphic content
sstidham-425 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The animation style is probably the best aspect of this 'series'. So is it 12 episodes or a film? Both were released this year, same name with different release dates. Leave it to WB to be disorganized and to just shove content out there. So in other confusing aspects of this, Jericho has a different power set than ever seen before and is a quasi villain again? He's blond and blue-eyed like the comics, but played by an Asian trans man in the live action show last year. I imagine being a DC fan today is confusing with such drastic changes to the same characters across the books, shows and films. Adeline is portrayed pretty well, except for her 'late 90's cartoon Rogue' hairstyle later in the episode. It's also weird to introduce Rose, but no Grant and well before Terra. Wilson is a thinner black man now. That's new to me. Anyways if you can get past the violence, gore and character changes; then you may enjoy this.

Slade not Wade
jasonmasihjm27 January 2020
Highly impressed with the first episode and the violent nature of the character was not let down with the opening installment! Might be just my opinion but the animation reminds me of the ultra violent Manga cartoons I watched years ago.

Average.
jonwade7 August 2020
When Deathstroke first appeared in the Teen Titans in the 80's he was one of the best characters around. He was an incredibly skilled human - not unlike Batman in his way. Why did that need to change for this film? In this iteration Slade has taken a super soldier formula (Captain America) that has given him incredible healing powers (Wolverine). At one point - testing his abilities - he punches a punchbag off its chain (Steve Rogers). His wife ends up with white highlights in her hair (Rogue) dressed in a black catsuit (Black Widow). The story also was bang average - this may as well have been a PG - the violence seemed tagged on to get a 15 certificate - not a mature story line - childish and simplistic - just the odd throat stab here and there. Animation did not set the world on fire either. How do you ruin a film about Slade Wilson? Tough ask but these guys managed it - kudos!

A wonderful, brilliant episode
jessvo24 May 2020
Everything about this episode was amazing. The voice acting, the story, and the animation! A great job of incorporating parts of deathstroke we know and love along with adding new twists and turns! I sympathize with him SO strongly. He is clearly someone we root for but we are also aware of his flaws and his dark side as well. Please release the next episode

Decent animation, but other than that, unless you are a hardcore Deathstroke fan ... I'd skip it.

Warning: Spoilers
The shear amount of cringe is unbelievable, Daddy issues allover the place. And, the cherry on top, discount Black Widow.

I believe this one was aimed for the fans...
paul_haakonsen25 August 2020
Right, well I sat down to watch this 2020 DC animated movie without knowing whom the Deathstroke character is, aside from being familiar with his name. So I didn't really know what to expect from director Sung Jin Ahn or writer J.M.DeMatteis.

I can't really say that I was overly impressed with "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons". Sure it was watchable, but it wasn't outstanding or memorable as some of the other DC animated movies available. So I suppose this one was aimed specifically at the fans.

Something that I did like about "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons", though, was the art style used in the animated movie. It was very much reminiscent of the 1980s cartoons that I grew up watching, such as "G.I. Joe" for example. And the animation was very smooth and good. These two factors were definitely working well in favor of the movie.

However, the storyline was just a bit too bland and mundane for my liking. There wasn't really anything that just popped out of the story and demanded attention. And the characters were a bit too trivial for my taste.

It should be said, though, that the voice acting was good, and they definitely had hired some talented performers to participate in this project. And Michael Chiklis definitely was a great choice, given his gruff voice.

All in all, "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons" turned out to be mediocre for me. It didn't really appeal to my liking. That means that I am settling my rating of this 2020 DC animated movie on a mediocre five out of ten stars.

Uhh yeah, Dollar Store Black Widow berates Deathstroke through most of the movie. Good thing the movie is about a strong independent woman and not about Deathstroke. Wow, what a borefest!

They are killing DC
Hazu2913 August 2020
It's just more of the same we are getting in these last 2 years. Unnecessary lefty propaganda messes up an okay cliche story. I'm a great fan of deathstroke comics and untill today I never saw a deathstroke story with so much identity politics, it's just unnecessary content. The people who are tuning DC nowadays are going to end up killing it. I mean, the layoffs already started.

This film is great for the Casual DC fan who has no idea who Deathstroke or Slade Wilson is.
juliendussault5 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I have to say, I skipped through the first 30 minutes of this film because unlike most of the people giving this 10 Stars, I've actually read the comics and know who Slade Wilson and Deathstroke is. 30 minutes of the film is wasted on explaining Deathstroke's backstory, and then the rest of the film is downright boring. It reminds me of modern DC Comic writing where it's really not that interesting, but for some reason is popular. Much like most of the films and TV series that WB animation has put out in the past couple of years oh, this film is boring, really not that well written and downright forgettable.

If you have nothing else to watch, I'd recommend this but if you want to save your money please don't watch this.

A rollercoaster of nonsense
cesarmsvicente21 January 2021
Marvel and DC are in the business of making roller-coasters of nonsense, they don't bother to have a story that seems credible or even enjoyable, only action packed nonsense without any sort of logic.

Watch this if you like brain dead soulless cartoons.

cool action sometimes but all wrong
dmv-1605526 January 2021
It's like they did no research. Deathstroke isn't a kind hearted, compassionate, loving, caring family man that reads bedtime stories to his kid and would overthrow a dictatorship for the good of the people when he was payed by that dictator to do a job.

He's a cold-blooded, borderline psychopathic, hitman killing machine.

Disappointing considering I've wanted a rated r animated Deathstroke movie for over a decade now, and I finally get it and it's this. We deserved better than this. Read the comics next time. Do research.

Boring and sometimes painful to watch.
gtgrier29 October 2020
The animation is okay. There are times where the smoke has a bunch of dots in it like it's trying to "look like a comic book". But it's inconsistent and makes no sense. It would make more sense for all the animation to be like that.

The voice acting can be pretty bad. Especially the knock off black widow.

Then there's the story. Just a bunch of daddy issues with a lame origin story. It's not even accurate to the comics. Jericho is wrong, Ravager is wrong, Deathstroke is wrong.

So I really don't know who this is for. It's not for Deathstroke fans or for movie fans.

Surprising!
philchappell-3094230 November 2020
A DC character used as a look into masculine traits of men that aren't often addressed in society today. This is a character that never suppressed any of those traits and it shows the consequences of what happens and the type of life that it could lead to but on an exaggerated scale.

I was impressed by the story it told and the animation was great. Much better than I expected.

My name is Jericho
nogodnomasters14 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Slade Wilson has a secret, one that everyone in the world seems to know outside of his family. He is a mercenary known as Death Stroke. He is an army genetic experiment that regenerates. He becomes separated from is son after he almost gets him killed by another mercenary, a bad guy, and not a good guy killer. Turns out the son is a mental case who needs to be rescued and well as his half-sister, a blonde Asian.

This is a teen cartoon with drama and a predictable tale that would appeal to teens. I couldn't get into the cartoon drama.
