You can check it out in the embed above.
Scripted by Robert Thompson from a story by James Cullen Bressack, Frost centers on
a young woman and her father who have to fight for survival after being stranded on a remote mountainside during a storm.
The synopsis doesn’t mention (but you can see in the trailer) that the situation is made even scarier and more desperate by the fact that the young woman in the story also happens to be pregnant. The film stars Vernon Wells – who counts The Road Warrior and Commando among his 240+ screen acting credits – and Devanny Pinn,...

To ask the creators of “Twin Peaks” specific questions about what actually happens in the enigmatic series is often to set oneself up for disappointment, but Mark Frost has always been more forthcoming than David Lynch. That trend continued in his reddit Ama held earlier today, which touched on everything from the Experiment to Bobby and Shelly. Here are some highlights:
Read More:‘Twin Peaks’: 9 New Facts About the Series’ Past and Future From Mark Frost’s Book
When asked about Bobby and Shelly, Frost said that the former couple “raised Rebecca together but slowly grew apart, as young couples often do. Amicable divorce, shared custody. Shelly’s weakness for ‘bad boys’ never went away, but infidelity was not the root cause for their breakup. Warrants have been issued, but Red, as of this writing, is still on the loose.”
As for the Roadhouse, which hosted a number of episode-ending musical performances this season,...

Comic book movies are solid blockbuster fare now, but there are plenty of adaptations that didn't get the love they deserved...
You might argue that fans of comic book adaptations have had a pretty good decade or so. Between The Avengers movies, the Dark Knight trilogy, and multiple Spider-Man and X-Men films, some of the biggest-grossing action movies of all time have been based on comics. Not bad when you consider that only recently, the medium was considered the preserve of dateless man-children alone.
But here's the thing: not every comic book adaptation lends itself to being a summer tentpole CGI-fest, and just as many get overlooked or forgotten completely by the time the next one comes out. Comic adaptations are coming out thick and fast, and with so much forward momentum it's sometimes worth taking a moment to look back on what's come before.

With each passing year, Tiff is becoming more and more prominent on the film festival circuit, with more and more Oscar-primed films making their debut out in Canada. And with the initial line-up announced for the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, the trend is definitely continuing.

It's hard to figure out what exactly conspires to make an actor underrated, though in Sam Rockwell's case he might as well be the poster-child for undervalued thespians. Even in "The Way, Way Back," his latest movie, a touching indie about an introverted teen navigating the quiet indignities of adolescence while his mom gets drunk with her jerk of a boyfriend, Rockwell once again takes a backseat.
Instead, his strong supporting performance as Owen, the water park manager who's so relentlessly charming he helps young Duncan come out of his shell, gets overshadowed in Nat Faxon and Jim Rash's directorial debut after their screenwriting Oscar for "The Descendants." Or maybe it's the general shock of watching Steve Carell play a jerk, and do it so well.
Like most coming-of-age films, "The Way, Way Back" is about the underdog making good, and with his reputation for scene-stealing, well-documented dance moves and easy charisma,...

Rating: R
Release Date: October 12, 2012

With the political season upon us, polls are everywhere. It’s easy to assume a poll being taken for “Most Psychotic Actors” and a few of the notable faces in Seven Psychopaths ending up on the list. Do we actually think they are psychos? No. At least I hope not. Off-kilter? Yes, that’s a shoe that fits for a lot of these guys, and perhaps exactly what makes them so watchable in Seven Psychopaths. Writer and director McDonagh...

If you've never heard of Lydia Hearst-Shaw, she's essentially a non-slutty, less publicized version of Paris Hilton. Great-granddaughter of publishing giant William Randolph Hearst, the heiress has more fame to her name than being the offspring of a historical media man. Aside from working as a journalist (writing for Page Six of The New York Post), she's more well-known as a model (appearing in Vogue, GQ and more) and most recently, acting roles in "Gossip Girl" and a couple low profile indie films like The Last International Playboy. Now The New York Post reports the heiress is taking aim at troubled Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan for her next role. Apparently Hearst-Shaw will lead a screwball comedy called Dogs in Pocketbooks in which she'll play a comic character based on Lohan and her publicized trials and tribulations with fame. Screenwriter Charles Casillo revealed, "Lydia will play a bratty movie goddess...

Shanghai
Opens: 2010
Cast: John Cusack, Gong Li, Ken Watanabe, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chow Yun-Fat
Director: Mikael Hafstrom
Summary: In the months leading up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, an American man arrives in Shanghai to find his friend recently murdered. In investigating his friend's death, he stumbles upon a secret the United States government has been keeping and falls in love in the process.
Analysis: After being granted permission to shoot in the Chinese city, the $10 million production found its permit quickly being revoked by the Government who expressed concerns about the script. The result is Bangkok and the United Kingdom standing in for the real Shanghai which seems kind of against the entire point.
Cusack himself has emphatically endorsed the project in interviews, calling it a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity", but being stuck at the cash-strapped Weinstein Company means that its release plans are unsure beyond a vague promise of a limited bow around Easter.

French police have opened an investigation into the suicide of actress Lucy Gordon.
The British actress - who appeared in movies including Spider-Man 3, Frost and Serendipity - was found dead at her Paris apartment on Wednesday, just two days before her 29th birthday.
The Times of London reported on Thursday that Gordon hanged herself. Her body was found at her apartment at la Rue des Petites Ecuries after her boyfriend, who was reportedly asleep in the apartment when Gordon killed herself, alerted a nearby shopkeeper.
The actress is believed to have been devastated after the recent suicide of a close friend in the U.K.
Gordon's father, Richard, spoke out on Friday, to put an end to speculation over the circumstances of 28-year-old Gordon's death by confirming two suicide notes had been found at her Paris home - one written to her parents and the other outlining her wishes for the disposal of her estate.
He said: "There is no question of foul play. Lucy committed suicide."
Gordon recently finished filming on a biopic of singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg in which she played British actress Jane Birkin. Trailers for the movie were shown at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week (begs18May09).

Lucy Gordon, a young British actress perhaps best known for a small role in Spider-Man 3, was found dead in her Paris apartment yesterday, May 20. Gordon’s death was an apparent suicide. She is supposed to have hanged herself while her boyfriend, cinematographer Jérôme Alméras, slept. Gordon would have turned 29 tomorrow, May 22. The Oxford-born Gordon worked as a model before making her feature-film debut in the little-seen Perfume in 2001. Among her other screen credits are the romantic comedy Serendipity, with John Cusack; The Four Feathers, opposite Heath Ledger; Steve Clark’s dramatic comedy Frost, starring Jason Behr; Russian Dolls, with Romain Duris; and John Krasinski’s Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, which was screened at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, Gordon had recently completed Joann Sfar’s biopic Serge Gainsbourg, vie héroïque / Serge Gainsbourg (a Heroic Life) (top photo), in which she played the role of Serge Gainsbourg...

Among his clients are a once-famous actress, an insecure young writer and a comically obsessive compulsive uber-agent.
Jonas Pate is directing a script by Thomas Moffett (Frost). Michael Burns, Braxton Pope and Trigger Street Prods. are producing.
In addtion to his role on Friday Night Lights, Plemons starred in the premiere installment of NBC's horror series Fear Itself. His film credits include the recently wrapped Observe and Report with Seth Rogen, Like Mike and Varsity Blues.
Plemons is repped by Talent Works and Simmons & Scott Entertainment.

The 13th annual Gen Art Film Festival will kick off this year's event with the Matthew Broderick starrer Diminished Capacity.
The comedy, which in February had its North American rights picked up by IFC Entertainment, was directed by Terry Kinney and also stars Alan Alda and Virginia Madsen. It's one of the seven features and seven short films that comprise what's designed to be one of the year's more intimate festivals, where young professional filmmakers take part in screening committees and consumers are encouraged to connect with the filmmakers.
Closing this year's festival, which runs April 3-8 in New York, is The Take, directed by Brad Furman and starring John Leguizamo, Tyrese Gibson, Bobby Cannavale and Rosie Perez.
Other movies premiering include the short-film Nosebleed, directed by Jeff Vespa and starring David Arquette; and Frost, starring Jason Behr, Krysten Ritter and Monet Mazur.
"The slate represents a common theme: of overcoming adversity and finding inner peace in a complicated world through humor, action and exploration," said Jeff Abramson, film division vp at Gen Art.
