Love this
rogerdavis-197403 July 2022
Such an emotional film. The awkward tension between the main characters (Tyler and Rose) is so well portrayed by both Alexandra Swarens and Emma Maddock. They seem to have a real chemistry much the same as that displayed in the LA WebSeries.

There is as much to take away from the silent moments as those with dialogue. Watching the relationship develop is full of wonderful heartfelt moments as they initially struggle to express themselves, with the attraction always being evident (more so from Tyler) increasing as they get to know each other.

A big fan of City of Trees also, another Alexandra Swarens movie. I really want to see more.

Rather slow to develop
JustinHow1 July 2023
I have no problem with the premise of this film as it is always touching to see young love develop in difficult circumstances (e.g. Same sex relationship at college/school), and I realise the budget was low, however it was rather too slow to develop (particularly for first 30 minutes) and should have introduced more character development and back story.

I agree with others that the age of the actors was a bit old to be playing 18-year-olds although this was not a showstopper. The cinematography and audio were both good for a low budget film as were the locations. The chemistry between the two leads was excellent. The dialogue in places was a bit unnatural. Otherwise pretty good and I enjoyed it.

Age difference
borpheus-1201413 January 2022
The director/co-star is in her early thirties playing a high school senior. She looks young, but certainly not 18. She should have stuck to directing and gotten a younger actress to play the role.

A thirty something should think again before playing a teen...
tasmin-x23 March 2022
Swarens is ludicrous as a teenager and tbh it made the viewing experience so uncomfortable. I don't rate her as an actor in this, though director-wise I can see some value. The age disparity in the actors made me cringe, and Tyler as a character is full and without notable merit. Unfortunately I can't get past that.

Very nicely done
TheWatcheroo29 December 2021
Well done to all involved. A good example of how even on a modest budget (crowdfunded apparently), a tight script and good acting can deliver a very nice movie experience.

I really liked Alexandra Swarens and Emma Maddock.in the lead roles of Tyler and Rose. I also thought the immediate entry into the story without significant delivery of backstory or subsequent exposition worked VERY well. I wish more movies would do this - let the audience work on understanding why the characters are who they are - we becomes much more invested in them, plus it gives the actors so much more to work with. My only small quibble were the scenes with Rose and her mother - I just didn't feel they worked vey well and I wonder if what these scenes were trying to accomplish couldn't have been done another away. Again, just a small criticism, though - other than this the story moved very nicely.

Good job!

10/10 would watch again

This movie is truly what the tag line says, not a coming out story but a true 'coming of age'. The fact that it was a crowd funded movie doesn't take away from the actresses chemistry on set. It's indie and simple and the moments that the main characters get closer and closer in their relationship reminds me so much of my high school experience. It was nostalgic to watch and truly a beautifully, simple film that had a queer story to tell and it did just that, plus the ending that wrapped it up in a nice bow.

Best movie I've seen in ages
nofreaky12 February 2023
This movie had touched my heart so much, I just didn't want it to end! So wonderfuly made, so simple and honest and smart and sweet, wow! So happy I didn't listen to the ratings here, a 10 stars easy!

The acting is wonderful, the chemistry is unbelievable, the description of the little details mimics teenage years remarkably, great cinematography and so heart warming to watch the tension built, it is so rare these days to find simplicity that feeds the heart like that, this movie is A real jewel that you wouldn't want to miss, grab a sit and enjoy🙂

And when you do watch it, please raise it's wrongly reputation here will ya?
