Quite good
heidihawawren11 October 2019
This show doesn't continue exactly from the original, many relationships and events are different, but it's still pretty good. The animation is much simpler, but... I almost like it better; the voice acting is pretty similar, but maybe a bit more believable than the original. The story is very entertaining, not exactly the best ever, but good, pretty fun, with some tension and relatively decent emotion. It ends on a definite cliffhanger though, so I hope there's a season 2.

Legend Quest: Masters of Myth - A Mexican love letter to myths, monsters and art.
hectormanuelrosario11 October 2019
This new series by the Mexican animated studio, Ánima Estudios is a soft-reboot from their originally developed Netflix Show with a new narrative, not continuing the previous events of the original. As a its own series it can be sometimes, an improvement from the series.

Pretty good stand alone but NOT the season 2 fans were hoping for.

Legend quest masters of myth is okay stand alone and worth watching, but is definitely not the season 2 fans were hoping for. Its basically a soft reboot of the original. Character relationships are different and the events of the original legend quest are mostly ignored. The art style is completely different- very cute cartoony like, especially leo looks nothing like his original form. The show is good but just not what many were excited about. The original legend quest was a top notch cartoon series, masters of myth is a good show but not top notch.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm currently watching it, I'm almost done, and I have to say, I like this better than Season 1.

I also love the change in animation, it looks like the animation from Tangled the Series, which is also another show that I like.

The characters are more well done than last time, because this time Leo is not head over heels over Marcela, and not really annoying as last time. This time around he learns throughout his mistakes and finds a way to make everything right.

I also like how they adjusted Teodora as a character, they made her more understanding this time and it truly helped with how the show progresses, she's still throwing shade here and there, but it just made the character more iconic.

Don Andres in this one, I don't really see much of a change, but I guess this time he is more helpful than last time, while Alebrije is still the same old enthusiastic Alebrije and I think it's good that way.

Marcela is still headstrong and it truly suits her character.

Each episode showcases different countries with different cultures which makes the show a bit educational.

I love the newfound relationship between Leo and Teodora in this one. It makes a lot of sense to have a deep connection between them, from what I've watched, they really help each other in a way. Sure, they bicker from time to time, but when the other person is having a lot of trouble they try to make each other better. Like the time with the Gargouille, they have small friendly fights, but Leo makes Teodora better.

This time, I think Leo only likes Marcela as a rival, because at the episode Anansi, when Leo was being hallucinated, in his hallucination Marcela held his hand but he was quite uncomfortable with it, but when Teodora came his expression quickly changed from uncomfortable to calm, and when Teodora states that Leo like Marcela, his face shows like he doesn't agree with that fact.

I didn't quite like the idea of Marcela and Leo the last season, because they kind of threw their relationship in our faces on the first episode and they didn't take the time to build it. I like Teodora and Leo more, personally.

That's it, I hope you guys like the show like I do.

unnecessary restart
istepkin5 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Warning: The translation may be inaccurate. Translated from Russian into English This sample is a relaunch of the animated series "In search of Legends" in 2017. Yes, yes, you heard right. This is not a continuation, but a restart. You understand this when you gradually watch the series and completely change the canon.

IF YOU DON'T WANT to read my whining about this, just watch "In search of Legends" 2017 ("Legend quest" or "Las leyendas", titles in English and Mexican). Strongly, absolutely. And touch this raw children's sample only after viewing the original, so as not to spoil the impression.

It's strange that I didn't understand this at the first viewing. Was the reissue worth closing the project with an unfinished twist at the end? Let's figure it out The animated series borrows all the images and characters that were in the 2017 project, changing only the animation style. I must say right away, a change of style is bad. It is suitable, except for children's spin-offs and animated series for girls, but not for 19th-century fiction with horror elements (we all understand that the horror of the last series was at the 6+ level, but it still smacked of something creepy and maybe equaled Gravity Falls just trying to smooth out the rough edges in an attempt not to scare off the younger audience). Everything that should somehow frighten, does not frighten. All monsters look cute or ridiculous rather than scary. Perhaps this is a subjective judgment, but there are unlikely to be dissenters. Especially those who watched the original project. Of the advantages, I will only highlight the fact that the animation has become smoother, but it just pales against the background of this "vanilla" style Plot. As for him, he didn't move forward. In theory, a restart is a fresh start, giving the opportunity to implement new ideas without contradicting the canon of the previous project. What do we have? The series has become tedious, the twists are not exciting, the narrative is drowning in the romance of Leo (the main character) and Theodora (the foreground character), the plot is banal. The original series even made me worry about.

Full with plot holes and awful animation style. Its a gravity falls meet martin mystery.
sisubalan4 November 2022
Im sorry but this is one terrible cartoon, everything feel wrong and off about this project until after episode 7 it gotten slightly better. First, the voice castings were awful - none of them did well or fit the characterisation. Literally no sound scores that i can find but the sound effects reminded me of very 90s cartoon in a bad way. The flow of this cartoon were average but im not a fan of the animation style - its very color book cartoon vibe, the quality almost like low budget interactive game. Awful characters and their design. Intro song reminded me of martin mystery & gravity falls.

Teodora was always impulsive and annoying.

Alebrije was awful in design, not cute nor funny and very annoying.

Don was simply annoying.

Leo was a bad choice as the main character, not funny and annoying, often came across as try hard.

Yes the whole characters from the main group were annoying and ridiculous. Full with generic adventures and bad action/magic scene.

The flow of this cartoon gotten better after episode 7 but still suffers from worst villain characterisation and bad storyline - tons of plot holes. Personally i wont watch it again but still recommended.
