The film started off very well, two fellas travel far off in the countryside n visit an abandoned n dilapidated hotel/house.
They meet the man who they r supposed to meet but the man holds them at gun point n warns them not to venture outta the house as "they" will kill em all.
Sounds good. It is clear that the director is inspired by Ils aka Them, Strangers, Purge, Stephen Dorff's Jackals, etc. His intentions were good but mayb due to the budget or his inexperience as a first time director, the film was not able to hold interest due to the lack of suspense n tension. The twist is kinda meh.
The lead novice actor Aidan O'Neill gave a decent performance.

REVIEW - DON'T LET THEM IN
British films are unfortunately not funded to the extent of those made in the USA by the big studios, so British cinema tends to concentrate on story rather than special effects, unfortunately this is the case with this film.
Again we've seen this type of film before, people held up in a building defending themselves from whatever is trying to get inside but at least this had a twist which I didn't even see coming!
Quite enjoyable especially the twist which I have mentioned but by far the best throughout the film is Colin.

Just not that good at all

This movie is packaged like it's another Strangers or similar home invasion movie. It falls incredibly short. It's not that the acting is all that horrible, the characters are just incredibly annoying with cringeworthy attempts at comic relief aplenty. It's set in an old abandoned hotel which looks pretty cool, but don't expect any quality scares or creeps. I suggest you pass on this one unless you are in the mood for something goofy with an incredibly lame storyline.

As in, "Warning: Dull and dry British horror, and not a zombie comedy." First off, for a movie called Don't Let Them In, exactly ZERO time is spent not letting them in. Not even a door lock. The creatures in question seemingly come and go as they please. Then there's a bunch of noise in the background during the dialogue, presumably to convey them "trying" to get in.
Alright, there are two social workers, having a bit of a quibble, the guy tosses a few back. That's the first 25 minutes. They arrive at a decrepit inn, to speak with a "reformed" child murderer, fresh from the asylum (maybe the most unconvincing mental patient I've seen on screen. Shambling, shaking, and speaking totally normal). He pulls a gun on them, because the "don't let them in" guys are out there! Here's where the movie turns into a home-invasion-thriller-with-masks. And it very closely follows the trope where they stand outside the building in their masks, and STARE. Yes, you've seen this in every one of these.
There's a big twist in here, rendering much of what has happened nonsensical (SPOILER: If they were after the woman the whole time, why didn't they go after her? Why did they take the killer? How did he escape? Why was I still watching?). This plot was not well thought out. Yes kids, this is 2020 horror. Oh, the guy is incessantly spewing one-liners. I didn't laugh once, and I generally like British humor. The action IS, however, comical. I've got news for the director: No amount of camera-shaking will clarify an action sequence. At one point, the guy (Not the murderer, the other guy. You can't expect me to be bothered with names) shoots one of these creatures in the face with a shotgun. When THAT doesn't work, the woman comes up behind him, and hits it in the back with a chair! Out cold. Who thinks of this crap?

If you get glib British humour and have a fondness for Hammer House of Horror, then this film is for you.
The title and marketing don't seem to match the film, what you get is so much better than another Purge/ home invasion movie.
There are laughs, splatter and plot twists. The Karl character gets all the funniest lines delivered perfectly by Aidan O'Neill. I would like to see more of the adventures of Karl.
I'm on my second viewing of this and will definitely watch it again, this may very well become a cult classic.

It takes about 25 mins until the someone realized you can't use the same sound track through the entire movie. The characters have nothing to keep you interested and there is no build up. I started skipping parts after 30mins in and it still didn't seem to go anywhere. Probably the worst horror of 2020, definitely in my top 5 worst horror's of the decade. Dismal, should never have been released.

You know a film is gonna be horrendous when next to none of the players have head shots and when the movie likens itself to a hone invasion movie like The Purge which really wasnt a home invasion movie.
The film is so bad the fake reviewers were too lazy to actually write reviews. They just gave it stars. How lame.

Jenna Riley (Michelle Luther ) and Karl Stevens (Aidan O'Neill ) are social workers. It is Halloween and Jenna wants to visit David Pierce (Scott Suter) a reformed child killer. He lives in a remote location. David is acting abnormally, checking the windows frequently and pacing back and forth, And the "they" show up. The ones who worship "The Beast with many names." It is a Satanic Cult break-in with a twist. It is filmed mostly in one room. It has a twist. I started liking Karl toward the end.

"You're Next meets The Purge!" - Major overstatement of the year 2020! Those films received negative to mixed reviews yet are way better than this cheap, pathetic wannabe!
The film follows 2 Social Workers who go to check on David Pierce at the 12 Bells Inn. David was recently released from a mental asylum after the death of a young girl 15 years prior. But once 3 masked strangers show up to the abandoned Inn, things turn sinister & a bizarre revelation starts to seep through the cracks...!
I found the film to be like any other low budget Straight-To-DVD Horror. Poor quality, poor script, poor lighting, poor directing, weak deaths, too much story, bad sound quality... the list goes on! But yeah the film sadly blew hard & didn't live up to the minor expectations I had before watching. Some of the visuals were alright as with the gore, but the film went off the rails near the end & took too long to get going. For a film with a 75 minute run time you expect more, but this didn't deliver!
Overall, this is poor. Watch You're Next, The Purge, The Strangers & any other Home Invasion Horror Film. Least you won't be disappointed by those films with way better action sequences & story-line! 2/10

This isn't a review more of an observation. Movies or series getting 8-10 rating that are nothing more than low budget re-hash of plots that have been done 100 times before are obviously not even close to being accurate reviews. It's either people connected to the projects, or just idiots who for some reason think giving a wrong review is funny . It happens all the time and ruins the section for anyone just looking for a honest opinion before viewing.
