Simple "story" but the performances and the way it is done makes it work well

This short film is a music video for a band I'm not a huge fan of, but it doesn't really matter because the presence and repetitive nature of the music is part of the film's approach. A couple suddenly find the track is playing around them, loudest when they are close together. No matter what they do it is on all the time and when others come close to them, they can hear it to - even if the couple at first try to deny it and pretend like they can't hear it.

At its heart the film is about this relationship, and the meaning in the song is simple enough, but it is the way it is played out that makes it engaging. The two leads really sell both the ideas - the one we see with the music, and the one of their relationship having a lot of tension and issues within it, even if they don't see it. The delivery works too, with good direction and some clever touches (like the use of subtitles). Nothing too deep about it, but it is a clever music video that keeps you watching and engaged even if you don't care for the track.
