Exclusive: Iconic British driver James Hunt is the subject of a feature doc from Deep Fusion Films.
British production house Deep Fusion has entered into a creative partnership with the James Hunt Estate on the production of Hunt: We Need to Talk About James, a 90-minute film that will offer “an unprecedentedly intimate look at the life and legacy of the man who helped define the glamour and danger of Formula 1, both on and off the track.”
Hunt had a well-publicized reputation as a playboy and adrenaline junkie, and was considered a golden boy of motorsports during his seven-year Formula 1 career, which culminated in him winning the 1976 World Championship in a dramatic final race.
While his personality and attitude made him hugely popular with the public and a familiar face in newspapers, his ‘live fast, die young’ approach was less well received by Formula 1’s establishment, who...

This post contains spoilers for "True Detective: Night Country."
The "True Detective: Night Country" corpsicle might just be the scariest thing on TV right now. We're three episodes into the chilling new season of HBO's bleak detective series, and the giant mass of frozen, terrified bodies only gets creepier with time. By now, the group of naked, dead scientists has mostly thawed out, dripping death all over the floor of a local hockey rink under the watchful, increasingly anxious eye of rookie cop Peter (Finn Bennett).
The corpsicle is clearly the horror centerpiece of "True Detective: Night Country," and the camera loves it. Each episode so far has been punctuated by close-up shots of the frozen faces of the doomed research team, and somehow, the jolt of adrenalized fear that accompanies the body horror reveal never quite wears off. In fact, the closer the group gets to a full thaw,...

GenderSamaBhav, a travelling film festival which was in Kochi on August 1 and 2, sparked compelling and vulnerable conversations themed around gender, masculinity, sexuality, and diversity.A still from Reema Sengupta's Counterfeit Kunkoo“Never have I ever kissed someone … who did not want to kiss me.” In Sonam Nair’s We Need to Talk, a short film presented by Tinder India, a party game triggers uncomfortable yet revelatory conversations between a group of friends, paving way to a compelling exploration of consent and boundaries. Though technically a marketing piece, We Need to Talk manages to exude sincerity with its mature and dignified lens on the group of young adults, subtly dwelling on the importance of communication in relationships, of all kinds. In Reema Sengupta’s Counterfeit Kunkoo, the protagonist is a young Mumbaikar named Smita (a captivating Kani Kusruti), a woman robbed of a space of her own, a roof over her head,...

In the tradition of Billy Madison, a new film set in the chaotic, comical world of gaming and influencers, We Need to Talk starring James Maslow (Big Time Rush) and Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow) is coming to digital this May from Global Digital Releasing.
Scott is a self-absorbed online video-game influencer, who speaks to millions of fans every day, but simply cannot (or will not) communicate with the people he loves. He remains blissfully unaware that he’s the problem until one morning, as she’s walking out the door, his girlfriend Aly tells him, “we need to talk.” Her comment sends Scott spiraling into a day-long tailspin as he seeks wisdom, advice, and emotional support from his social media network of friends, internet trolls, and a myriad of online characters from around the world.

W. Kamau Bell is readying himself for Black Twitter’s response to his new Showtime docuseries We Need to Talk About Cosby.
The four-parter premieres this Sunday at 10/9c and allows Bell to unpack Cosby’s storied career from clean-cut comedian and I Spy star to America’s Dad. The series also takes a closer and very uncomfortable look at the breadcrumbs the one-time luminary and cultural pioneer dropped about his unsavory predilection for drugging and raping women. (Cosby was convicted of sexual assault in 2018 and released last year when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction.)

This article contains spoilers for Invincible episode 7.
Amazon’s animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker’s comic Invincible was always a great idea. The property has just about everything that streaming services and their audiences are looking for currently: superheroes, ultraviolence, and jaw-dropping twists.
One big question facing the series, however, was how could one show possibly fit in all the story of the comic’s lengthy 144-issue run? Invincible episode 7, “We Need to Talk,” is the first season’s penultimate installment and it reveals how the show is set to approach this logistical challenge. With so many comic book issues of plot to get through, Invincible seems perfectly happy to accelerate through that plot as efficiently as possible. To that end, “We Need to Talk” features a truly staggering number of climactic moments.
This might actually be the most charmingly chaotic and jam-packed episode of TV this...

San Sebastian — Netflix has had, since arriving in Spain, a close relationship with the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Last year, Alfonso Cuarón’s “Roma” loomed large, featuring on the fest’s largest billboard. And this year, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo’s “Seventeen” occupied four adjacent billboards along the festival’s most highly trafficked walkway.
Premiering to industry and press on Thursday, the film’s first public screenings kicked off this morning at 9am. So far, the buzz has been good.
Two days before turning 18, Héctor escapes the juvenile detention center he’s lived in for two years after a dog he had been rehabilitating – although who was rehabilitating who is a matter for debate – is adopted and no longer able to visit the center.
After making good his escape, Héctor (Montoro) half-bakes a multi-part plan to A: Recruit his older brother Ismael (Nacho Sánchez) to his cause, B: Get his terminally...
