Luna Directs Boxing Champ Documentary
Mexican actor Diego Luna has directed a new documentary about his childhood hero, boxer Julio Cesar Chavez.
The Open Range star interviewed boxing heavyweights Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya and promoter Don King for the film J.C. Chavez.
Luna says, "Julio Chavez was this Mexican boxer that was huge from '88 to '96, and a champion for 11 years. The film was a chance for me to talk about Mexico when I was a teenager.
"I remember living in a country that was always in a crisis ever since I was 10. So, for me, it was interesting to tell the story of the only Mexican, who didn't know what losing was, when the country was falling apart."...
