Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A truck driver dies in an explosion during a fight between Megamind and Titan/Tighten, however, only the truck is seen exploding. This is not referenced in the film but is implied from the scene.
  • A woman is threatened with dangerous weapons and implements, including alligators, knives, and guns.
  • There is cartoon violence, as the superheroes fight each other.
  • Megamind throws a lit stick of dynamite at his cyborg "children", who end up blowing up.

Profanity

  • The main character plays AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" but cuts the song off right before the word (played for laughs).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • While on a date at a restaurant, two characters are shown drinking what looks like white wine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A superhuman character takes off to the skies with a woman, flying haphazardly through and above the city. He flings her around as the camera follows her at an extremely fast pace. He throws her around, holds her by various limbs and almost causes her to fall to her death. He leaves her on the very top of a tall building. This scene is moderately intense and only lasts for a minute or two.
  • A character appears to be flying toward the protagonist to apprehend him, but a skeleton lands suddenly in a way that may slightly startle very young viewers.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • At one point, it looks as though Megamind is impaled by the tip of a building (although it's really Minion in disguise, who lives in the end).
  • Megamind blows up a building in which Metro Man is trapped. A skeleton wearing Metro Man's cape is sent flying out of the building. But he doesn't die as we see him later on in his hideout when Megamind and Roxanne go there.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • When Hal becomes Tighten, he starts to become a creepy stalker towards Roxanne and tries to impress her with his new powers, but she doesn't like Hal nor care for him, and he throws a tantrum as he wanted Roxanne for himself as he believed that "the good guy always gets the girl".
  • Two characters appear to succumb to their death, which could be disturbing -- even though they both turn out to be alive.
