That's an old baby
eugeniedemeyer6 December 2019
The movie is a perfect 5. Just very average. Nice if you just want to put your brain to 0. The real reason I wanted to write this review is just because their "newborn" baby is obviously just 6 months old. It's ridiculous and therefore hilarious.

Decent watch
jml19886 December 2019
It wasn't overly exhilarating or thrilling, but it was cute enough and ended well, thought I could have guessed every event.

Kind of stupid
bigfamilyforus6 December 2019
Yes when I was in labour with my kids I held family meetings as the contractions conviently stopped so I could could talk to them! then give birth with full make up and in come bunches of people literally seconds later talk to me about issues. I mean sure, they are all meant to be cheesy and the others were cute but this one is just a little silly

Emily needs her own movie!
andreavera1 January 2020
Love these movies. They totally deliver what they promise: fluffy romantic Christmas fun. But the reason why I'm commenting is to ask Netflix to give Emily her own series or movies. She stole the show again. 10/10 for Emily!!!

Back with the Royals!
ginasharp19 November 2020
Another good movie from Netflix. I like that they released one of these each year and the characters are all the same. It was nice to revisit the royal family and enjoy the ride with them to becoming parents! These movies are done well. The are nice to watch when you need a feel-good movie but don't want something quite as cheesy as Hallmark.

anyone else find Amber insufferable?
dewberrydays1 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love rewatching these films over the holidays each year despite knowing they're utterly mediocre and predictable. The ordinary American girl meets prince of a small country plot has certainly been done before (hello The Prince & Me), but the added mystery element does elevate the films, even if the resolution to each mystery is fairly unsurprising. However, after numerous rewatches, i find Amber to be somewhat insufferable as a protagonist. The films are notably feminist, but it's white feminism and nothing at all new. After all, she's still marrying into what appears to be a mostly absolute monarchy. Parliament seemed to play a role in the first film but in the second it was the King making policy. So that aspect of the films, of Amber being some revolutionary queen, rings really hollow. But it's not that that bugs me. I generally love Rose McIver, but my god. In this film, Amber is super quick to judge her best friend for falling in love with the reformed Simon, and also super quick to assume that Simon must be behind the missing treaty. When she goes into labor and the doctor calls to say she is stuck in the snow, and Richard decides to run to her aid, Amber says, "but the baby is coming!!" like... do you want to do this without the doctor?? Completely irrational. And then there's the curse. The fact that she seems to completely but into the story of the curse over the course of the film, despite multiple mature adults telling her it's just superstition, is alarming. Like come ON gurlfriend.

Anyway LOVE Princess Emily as always.

Good clean fun
toncincin7 March 2022
FIRST OF ALL - this is NOT a Hallmark movie. It is a production solely for Netflix. Please don't confuse productions.

All three Christmas Prince movies are good clean fun. Not based on any reality. BTW - there's no such country either. Just watch for what they're worth. Placing any sense of reality on these movies is ridiculous. Everything is over the top. Take them for what they are ...

A christmas tragedy: The royal baby
aakshiisrivastava8 December 2019
The first two ones were actually enjoyable. This one's just bad. I know it's a christmas movie but that doesn't mean you'll not do your trilogy justice.Seriously, everyone's acting so animated and they've added two gay guys just to seem more "inclusive".

Ugh, recommend watching the first two and forgetting about this one.

Great cheesy movie.
amandahenderson-932956 December 2019
This series is great. I wish they used 10 more $ from the budget on making the hairdos a little nicer, but overall, fun to watch. That is one healthy 6-mo-old newborn...

Leave Simon alone!
GavWaskett12 September 2020
Not so much about a baby, but lots of Christmas trees and niceness, though they are all out of order to Simon even after he redeemed himself in the last film. Which annoyed me slightly, they were happy to spread the Christmas love, except to someone who once wronged them but then changed. But he takes it all with good grace! A bit of a whodunnit with added fear of war with another country!

All the stupid clichés in the same ugly package.
gpsx-2659310 December 2019
From bad acting and cheap special effects, to huge plot holes and overly expired cliches, this movie has got it all. If you like scooby doo and wish it was made with humans and cheaper whilst also being unnecessarily cluttered with the "queen" "journalist" ego, this may deserve a 2 star rating from you. If not, be sure to avoid watching it if you're over 14 years old.

Should've stopped after the first movie
Kijofreg8 December 2019
The first movie was okay. Above average for cheesy Christmas movies. The second one was just your average, cringey Christmas movie. This one was below average, too cheesy, too predictable, and too cringeworthy. And the second and third should offend all kinds of minorities. How do they get away with it without a storm?

So bad it kinda pissed me off
imaprima19 December 2019
The first two movies were bad, but in a fun and entertaining way, all the cliches and the ridiculously American interpretation of what a royal family is and what exactly is a regents job. This third instalment on the other hand was just incredibly bad in every way, the plot is so thin and predictable, the script is lazy at best and the characters seems to have all become caricatures. Really, really bad caricatures. At some point I actually got so annoyed at how bad it was I could barely watch it to the end.

I KNOW A MOVIE, BUT REALLY
valica-3384919 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why would the Queen & Princess go alone to Dungeon without any servants or guard, and then no-one go look for them? Further more, why would a King ride off alone to retrieve doctor?

A lot of clichés in this movie...although I liked one thing about it
avram_teodora15 December 2019
This movie has a lot of clichés in it. However I liked one thing about it: the filming location. The movie has been filmed in Bucharest, Romania and the castle is also located in Romania. Such a beautiful country and the landscape is amazing.

Cheesy but fun
kezzie-280612 November 2020
This is still cheesy, like the first two films. But a good cheesy. Lighthearted and a little fun. I do enjoy these at Christmas time! Sit back with some hot chocolate and enjoy something simple.

Nonsense
jordymadueno10 June 2020
It was way worst than the first one which says a lot because the first was in the limit of tedious. This one have a bad guy that doesn't make any sense. It's pathetic. The acting is awful and the plot a complete nonsense.

Silly, fun Christmas trilogy
annelyce7 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
These movies aren't great, but they're super fun, and totally in keeping with this genre. They're Christmas romance, and they're not pretending to be more than that. Just pop some popcorn, snuggle up with a blanket, and enjoy. Sure, the lighting is terrible, the makeup artist made Rose McIver look like she was back on iZombie, and the acting was completely stiff, but anyone who appreciates cheesy holiday movies will love it.

I also have total respect for a woman who allows her husband's family, staff, and visiting royalty into her bedroom while she's in labor. 😂😂😂

Quite nice. But where's the wheelchair?
carolinebecki5 December 2019
It's a nice movie. Just like the other 2. But one thing is seriously bothering me. There's this character that's been in a wheelchair for the first 2 movies. And suddenly she barely uses it anymore? Mostly the crutches. Why?

Not the best
abrarsdepressing7 December 2019
The previous movies were good. But this movie was not interesting whatsoever. The actors seemed tired of their roles and every action looked forced, which made the acting terrible. Everyone sounded so sarcastic and it was just boring.

More royal mediocrity
TheLittleSongbird24 December 2019
The first 'A Christmas Prince' was semi-watchable if more one of those on-the-fence sort of films with little particularly special. The second film 'The Royal Wedding' was very mediocre and never more than that, with a few of the same strengths but there are also a few things done worse and a lot of the same flaws amplified. Saw 'The Royal Baby' anyway for completest sake and intrigue as to how it would fare compared to the other two.

'A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby' is nothing special either. Again it is semi-watchable and has its moments, but it is also closer to the mediocre standard of 'The Royal Wedding' and improves on hardly any of the flaws that that film had. There are only two improvements, otherwise the flaws are the same here and they are just as badly done, so a series of three films with the same strengths and flaws to each other.

Starting with 'A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby's' good things, the picturesque scenery is lovely as is the outside and inside of the castle which makes one want to stay there. The photography is neither drab or garish, though finesse is not always a strong suit. The music is a pleasant listen and is infectious.

Rose McIver gives an endearing lead performance and Alice Krige is the picture of elegance and dignity. The best acting again comes from Honor Kneafsey, a bright spot in the other films, who gives a performance beyond her years brings a lot of charm and heart absent elsewhere (something that she brought to her other films, being a high point for example of 2017's 'Crooked House').

Furthermore, there are two improvements here. Ben Lamb is more comfortable and more engaged here. His chemistry with McIver also gels far more and is more discernible.

However, the rest of the characters are little more than caricatures with the film's laudable attempts of being more diverse feeling too much of a hodge-podge. Simon is pointless again, Mr Little is insufferable and the rest of the acting is amateur dramatics pantomime-level.

Once again the script is full of grating cheese passing for humour and mawkish schmaltz. The story is again muddled from trying to cram in too much, a lot of the content being quite tired and some disconnected, very thin and padded in some stretches, is littered with predictability and contrivance and the frequent lapses in continuity and credibility-straining gets on the nerves fast.

In conclusion, mediocre at best. 4/10
