- King Henry VIII: [upon seeing the harm from the jousting accident] You almost lost an eye.
- Anthony Knivert: [laughingly] Never use that one much anyway.
- King Henry VIII: [during a diner-dance] Mister Wyatt.
- Thomas Wyatt: [gets up and bows] Your Majesty.
- King Henry VIII: I hear you're a poet.
- Thomas Wyatt: I write poems, I don't know how to be "a poet".
- King Henry VIII: I've read some, I like them.
- Thomas Wyatt: My Lord, I don't know what to say.
- King Henry VIII: [whispering quietly up close] Were you in love with Anne Boleyn?
- Thomas Wyatt: [nervous] I...
- King Henry VIII: Cardinal Wolsey tells me you were once engaged.
- Thomas Wyatt: No, that's not true.
- King Henry VIII: Did you love her?
- Thomas Wyatt: [nervously] Lady Anne is so beautiful, it is the duty of every man to love her. Of course I loved her, but from a distance. Personally, I have a wife.
- King Henry VIII: [about his sister, Margaret] Charles, as you love me, take care of her.
- Charles Brandon: I will. Have no doubts, I shall treat her as if she were my own sister.
- King Henry VIII: [after he gets hit in the face during a joust] Come on, Anthony, let's do it again!
- [He gets back on his horse and rides around the jousting pit]
- King Henry VIII: People of England, your King is unharmed!
