This is an actual review of the bollywood movie Fear directed by Vikram Bhat.

This review is about the Bollywood movie "Fear" directed by Vikram Bhat. And not the second segment in the movie "Unknown Trilogy" directed by Sal Mazzotta (which has to be released yet.) There are not many horrors made in Bollywood. And the ones that are made are usually pretty bad. "Fear" also falls into this category. Although I must say that the production values were pretty high. There were some nice special effects that you normally won't expect in a movie like this. The problem however is that this movie makes too much use of special effects and loud music effects. The movie never gets real creepy or scary. The plot is heavily borrowed from other Asian horror movies. But could be surprising for an Indian audience if they aren't used to this type of ghost movies. If the director would have paid more attention to atmosphere in stead of the use of special effects he could have created real tension. It also didn't help that some actors overacted too much. Some scenes that supposed to be serious and thrilling are ruined by the bad performances. These scenes just made me laugh real hard and I doubt that the director intended that to happen. Overall I think it is a nice attempt in making something different than the usual Bollywood horror movies and should be seen as a possible and positive change in the Indian horror scene.
