Baltimore's police department and drug trade make changes to key personnel.

This is an excellent episode with memorable character moments.

It is difficult to go into detail in this one without spoiling certain parts, but it safe to say that what's shown is very compelling. One scene involving a golf club is very unnerving and reminiscent of a certain part of 'The Untouchables'. Another involves a very cold act of betrayal that makes brilliant use of the facial expressions of the actors involved.

The best aspect of the storytelling is the contrast between the four central characters involved and how two similar processes are carried out in very different ways.

In all the violent brutality and ruthless political manoeuvring, it still finds time for humour. I love the scene in Levy's office. Plus the scenes involving Carver show fantastic character development by the writers and one exchange with Herc is quite a feel good moment that is a ray of sunshine in all the darkness.

All actors are great as always but for me, Robert F. Chew, Frankie Faison, Jamie Hector, and Seth Gilliam stand out.

It's a 9.5/10 for me but I round upwards.

Excellent

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Transitions", a fourth episode of "The Wire" season 5 was superb in moving its story further. Its all coming down to the wire soon so to speak, and it feels that there will be blood and there already is blood. The ending of this episode was unexpected, and kinda shocking to see this Marlow guy being absolutely maniac and with no rules. But other then that i really am enjoying the storyline of Macnolty - the things with serial killer and especially his person life going same direction it went before season 4. This man is some sort is broken and only his job keeps him up - or maybe its wise versa.

Warning: Spoilers
Another fairly slow episode, but it did have some good moments, including possibly the funniest moment of the show when Marlo laughs at Herc. Speaking of Marlo, I hope dearly that Omar absolutely destroys him. He's the most hateful villain I've encountered in a while. The man has no respect, no rules, no code. He just does whatever he feels like, all the while barely saying anything and barely cracking a smile. Omar is like the polar opposite of this guy. Either way, it should hopefully make for a good showdown. Other than that, not a lot really happened. McNulty arriving late at Beadie's to get chastised is basically the same old story for him: disturbed, alcoholic detective chasing the case. I prefer this to season 4 Jimmy at least

Warning: Spoilers
I hope Marlo kills Omar the thief soon. I hate thieves and I hate Omar. Marlo takes care of business this episode. Marlo is my favorite character. Stringer was my other favorite character. I hope Marlo avenges stringer.
