B&B investigate the remains of a star college basketball player found crushed to death under the bleachers in the college gym. But was he dead before or after the bleachers were closed? It gets worse: the player apparently was on steroids. Brennan gets an introduction to the world of jocks and a side of college she certainly never experienced. Not much frivolity here. There's a side angle involving the sexual antics of the students, which eventually leads to the solution. Not one of my favorite episodes. But for those who decide to watch it, remember blue lipstick. And you get to see Brennan showing a maternal side when she finds a nest of baby rats inside the corpse's body.

Jock fest.

Warning: Spoilers
Hi Bones Booth Podcast, English Jan here.

I don't know what's up with Bones in the episode; she seems to have taken an instant dislike to Booth. What've Booths done to upset her, I really couldn't say. Bones gets in a few digs at Booth, calling him a jock and emotionally stunted - talk about the kettle calling the pot black! We're given no reason for Bones odd behaviour in the episode.

Poor Cam First, she gets covered in Ambrosia Salad. (- I had to look that one up, as it's not something we eat in the UK. ) After that, Jack uses her personal blender to liquefy Maggots. Yuck! Then if that's not enough, she gets push back from Angela when Cam asks her to deliver a simple message to Jack. Thankfully Cam does get one of the best line comebacks. "I'm seeing parts of you I'd rather leave to my imagination." The whole episode is lifted as ever by the final scene with Bones and Booth at the Diner, where Bones sort of apologises to Booth. As Apologies go, it is only half-hearted. But Booth being the big man he is, accepts.

Warning: Spoilers
An accordion body with baby rats that's a new one. Loving the guest stars this episode Mekia Cox who's currently on the Rookie, Taylor Kinney who was almost Mr. Lady Gaga, and Erik von Detten from the DCOM Brink. You know their experiment track record Cam why would you stand in the line of fire? Ofcourse the coach wants to move on immediately heaven forbid they miss a practice. Hahahah sorry about your blender Cam but it's ok he'll rinse it out. Lol Angela and Hodgins finally got caught hooking up at work. Lipsticked by a Cheerleader isn't something you hear everyday. Awww Booth the fully developed warrior man.

I'm geeking out!
HelloBlockbuster10 August 2022
Erik Von Detten (Days of Our Lives), Taylor Kinney (Chicago Fire/PD/Med), AND Makia Fox (The Rookie, Chicago Med) on ONE episode of Bones-TOGETHER?! Each was in their mid-20s during filming, but played high school basketball players and a cheerleader, respectively.

For anyone who LOVES to see actors in their early years or childhood actors growing their skills ... this is a great episode!

basketball players
IsleOfSkye22 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The team investigate the a body found behind bleachers of a basketball court on a college campus. even more insight gets put towards the relationship or that-soon-to-be-one of Bones and Booth, not to mention all the stereotypes of the college athletes, star or otherwise.

however, one thing of note, all the basketball players (seen at the end of one of their practices talking with the coach before being dismissed) were basically the same height. and the supposed new starting power forward for the team who would replace the dead athlete, was shorter than Bones. just thought I'd point out the not-so-smart casting done by the crew. either that or bad writing that made a under-6-foot actor be a power forward in college instead of a much more likely scenario of a point-guard.

Predictable Plot
Hitchcoc26 January 2023
This involves the death of a big time college basketball player, most likely headed to the NBA. He is found after four days behind a set of fold up bleachers. The killer could have been any of a dozen people, including a bunch of cheerleaders. It turns out he was an indiscriminate sex machine. We are made to believe that all basketball players (and all male jocks) are exactly the same. Booth has issues with Brennan over this oversimplification. Eventually, it's an STD and DNA that are used to trace things back to the murderer. One thing that bugged me is Brennan standing in the locker room while the players are naked. There would be protocols.
