What I liked about this episode is that it is the first time that Shawn shows a genuine attempt to actually really own his respect for Lassie. Saying that Lassie astounded him from the way that he did things before, and that he enjoyed working with the man. While this is not making things friends or anything, it does provide the first smidge to them opening up and starting to over the course of 8 years burying the hatchet. Because Lassie now knows that Shawn does respect the man, and wants to work with him. This is something that had never been shown before, and I feel like that small dynamic does really push the episode forward in a massive direction.
