Kelsey Grammer is resting in a Hawaiian hospital after suffering a mild heart attack over the weekend.
The actor had experienced symptoms Saturday morning at his Hawaiian home after paddle-boarding with his wife, Camille, his spokesperson said. He was immediately taken to the hospital and is scheduled to be released early this week.
Grammer, who co-starred in Fox's comedy Back to You this past season, just signed on for a starring role in ABC's comedy presentation Roman's Empire. The presentation, from CBS Par/ABC Studios, was shot in May.

Unusuals, from Sony, is a dramedy set at a New York police precinct. Goldberg will play Delahoy, a detective who has a brain tumor that no one else knows about.
In Wife, a follow-up to the high-rated miniseries, Nicolet will play a new friend of Molly's (Messing) who is a parent and the wife of a Los Angeles pro athlete.

ABC has ordered three more single-camera comedies: pilot Never Better, from Dave Alpert; an untitled pilot from Kristin Newman; and Roman's Empire, a pilot presentation from Al Higgins.
Never Better, from ABC Studios and the Littlefield Co., centers on a guy trying to be a good husband and father despite his somewhat misguided attempts. Walpert wrote it and will exec produce with Warren Littlefield and John Heyman.
