No Way Out
BatistawinsatManiaIRiot19 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A below average PPV with a poor crowd in LA, granted they didn't have much to cheer about but they were still very dull, in fact the only time they looked bothered was (surprise, surprise) whenever Cena came in the ring. It was as if whenever Cena was tagged in or did anything all of a sudden the crowd went "Oh we care now".

(W) - Winners

1) Benoit/Hardy's (W) Vs. MNM/MVP - 7/10 - A good opener, a shame the night couldn't carry on this way. Benoit showed just how good he is in this match by really making everyone else in it look good, Hardys and MNM were there usual selves. I don't see a lot of MVP because I'm not a keen Smackdown follower and after this, I have to say I'm not really impressed.

2) Cruiserweight Open (W) - Chavo Guerrero - 6/10 - This wasn't as good as one would have hoped but it was decent none the less, a couple of surprises as well.

3) Finlay/Little Bastard (W) Vs. Boogeyman/Lil Boogey - 3//0 - Poor match as expected, Boogeyman is as stiff as Batista and just looks so crap out there, people ramble on and on about Finlay but not even he could make this match any good, only good spots were the midgets fighting.

4) King Booker Vs. Kane (W) - 6.5/10 - A watchable encounter between the two vets, Kane was looking pretty good in this match.

5) Deuce/Domino Vs. London/Kendrick (W) TAG TITLES - 5/10 - Another average bout, nothing special, by this time you're already craving for the main event. Deuce and Domino ARE NOT GOOD.

6) Lashley (W) Vs. Kennedy ECW Title - 5.5/10 - The crowd killed this match, which in all fact wasn't that bad. Kennedy tried to carry Mr. over rated to a match and to be fair it was okay but then Lashley got in offence and just looked bad, bad like Batista and Boogeyman. Lashley needs work ASAP. The ECW title needs to be defended in Hardcore matches

7) Diva talent Invitational - Ashley(W) 3/10 - Usual eye candy but I just don't care anymore. Jillian Hall tried to sing, mocking Brooke Hogan of course, so I guess its fair to say Hogan is done with WWE. Ashley unveils playboy cover, looking very skinny. Layla/Kelly/??? do pointless long dance.

8) Cena/HBK (W) Vs. Batista/Undertaker - 7.5/10 - The best match of the night, crowd had no idea who to cheer for but at least for once on the night they made some noise, especially whenever Cena entered the frame as I stressed before. Batista, I have to admit looked a bit better and made more of an effort, his moves seemed more forceful, he wasn't as stiff as he had been for the past 6 months. A possible heel turn for him at the end as well? make your own mind up. HBK/Taker/Cena performed to there usual good standards. It was nice to see faces going tit for tat and hearing the crowd get confused as to who to cheer for.

WWE No Way Out 2007
wrestlingsitewebmaster10 March 2007
WWE No Way Out is a difficult PPV to some up. The cancellation of the fatal four way ladder match was a slap in the face to everyone who purchased the PPV. This was false advertising by WWE and I let them knew that by an e-mail sent to them by myself. WWE put Deuce and Domino in with Brian Kendrick and Paul London, which in a sense the fans didn't care about, their gimmick sucks. Vince McMahon apparently changed the match because he doesn't know whether The Hardyz and MNM should team up, but he still put them in the opener with Chris Benoit and MVP? Doesn't make sense to me.

Mr Kennedy faced Bobby Lashley in a terrible match. Firstly Kennedy and Lashley have zero chemistry together and this showed.

But the PPV does have a happy ending, the main event was a strong one which pitted HBK and John Cena against Batista and The Undertaker. This one ended when Batista turned on the Taker and Cena gave him an FU.

  • Chris Benoit and The Hardyz downed MVP and MNM in a decent six man tag match.

  • Chavo Guerrero pinned Jimmy Wang Yang in a gauntlet Cruiserweight match which also included Scotty 2 Hotty, Jamie Noble, Shannon Moore, Daivari and Funaki. This should have been better.

  • Mr Kennedy beat ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley via DQ in a poor match.

  • Paul London and Brian Kendrick beat Deuce and Domino to retain the World tag titles in a poor match.

  • Finlay and Hornswoggle downed The Boogeyman and Little Boogeyman in a comedy match.

  • Kane downed King Booker via a choke slam in a good match.

  • John Cena and Shawn Michaels defeated The Undertaker and Batista in a very good main event.

Overall Grade - C

Filler PPV with a Great Main Event
morantjavonte13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No Way Out 2007 Thoughts

No Way Out 2007 was the 9th annual No Way Out event produced by the WWE. Event took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 18, 2007. Attendence set at 14,000 with a low buyrate of 218,000. It was the Road to WrestleMania season and it was held exclusively under the Smackdown brand with a couple of stars from Raw and ECW making appearances. It would also be the last as after WrestleMania 23 in April 2007, all PPVs would become tri-branded within the brand extension.

Won't lie and say the card was stacked as on paper you can understand the buyrate being low which was the time to change the PPV formula the following night. The Main Event is what was mostly the thing to look forward to as both Brands world champions would team up against the Wrestlemania contenders in a tag team match. I remember this was huge at the time. It was build as a match that might not ever happen again. The two top faces of Raw and SD (Cena & Batista) would team with Veterans and two of the all time greats (HBK & Taker) respectively. Also announced a little late as an important match would be Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. Kennedy for the ECW World Championship.

The Good - The Main Event was wild. When you just see them all in the ring, the star power in there drives you wild. All 4 stars were over with crowd and they put up a heck of a match. Both being face teams switched the tag team formula of heel sides during the match. All had worked very well together. It was obvious Cena and Michaels were on this card for star power as Smackdown at this time carrying a PPV was not a great thing. The 6 man tag team opening was a pretty solid opening match and I enjoyed the Cruiserweight Championship Opening Challenge. Crowd was pretty good.

The Meh - I felt King Booker vs. Kane went on okay. It was a bit long and the crowd unfortunately really couldn't get into it. I mentioned the crowd being good but they dragged a bit in the middle. It wasn't their fault as they were eager for the main event with not much of an interesting midcard. Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles was decent but it was pretty short and Duece & Domino were a pair who were sloppy from the ring and an outdated gimmick.

The Bad - Finlay & Bastard (Hornswoggle now) vs. The Boogeymen was Terrible. Was clearly WWE adding some laughs but Finlay who was a good performer should have been in something more serious. The Boogeyman, as entertaining and funny at times to fans, was a terrible in-ring performer. This whole storyline of him having a little sidekick next to him as well was dumb. Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. Kennedy was also a bland match. The crowd didn't give a crap of the match and chanted boring through out the match. Going 15 minutes and to end it in a DQ was bad booking all the way.

Overall - You can say this is another PPV of where the Main Event saves the show. Otherwise with just 3 weeks of build up post the Royal Rumble and just about all of the matches having little to no importance heading into WrestleMania 23, this was mostly a filler.

Score - 6 out of 10: Decent

0 = Terrible : 1 = Bad/Lackluster : 2 = Decent : 3 = Good : 4 = Awesome : 5 = One of the Best of all Time :

1. The Hardys & Chris Benoit vs. MNM & MVP - 3.5/5

2. Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge: WWE Cruiserweight Championship - 3/5

3. Finlay & Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman & Little Boogeyman - 0/5

4. King Booker vs. Kane - 2.5/5

5. Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Deuce & Domino: WWE Tag Team Championship - 2/5

6. Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. Kennedy: ECW World Championship - 1/5

7. Ashley Massaro vs. Jillian Hall vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Layla vs. Brooke Adams (Divas Talent Invitational) - this was a match?

8. John Cena & Shawn Michaels vs. Batista & Undertaker - 4/5

Best Match - John Cena & Shawn Michaels vs. Batista & Undertaker

Worst Match - Finlay & Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman & Little Boogeyman

Most Memorable Moment - Batista turning on Undertaker.

1. John Cena - Great Performance

2. Shawn Michaels - Great Performance

3. Batista - Great Performance

4. Undertaker - Great Performance

5. JBL - Michael Cole with a sore throat was struggling, JBL mostly carried commentary by himself. And he's a color.

Watching this PPV, proves that Smackdown is the greatest show in WWE
kliko40012 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Watching this PPV, I had high expectations for it, since Smackdown is the best show in WWE, this is a very good PPV as it is the last one before Wrestlemania.

FIRST MATCH-HARDY BOYS & CHRIS BENOIT VS. MVP & MNM W/ MELINA IN A 6 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Good way to start the match. It started a bit slow at the start, but later the pace quickened & the match got more exciting & entertaining. Benoit rolls through & makes Joey Mercury tap out to get a victory for the Hardy Boys & himself. 6/10

SECOND MATCH- GREGORY HELMS {CHAMPION} VS. SHANNON MOORE VS. FUNAKI VS. CHAVO GUERRERO VS. DAIVAIRI VS. SCOTTY 2 HOTTY VS. JAMIE NOBLE VS. JIMMY WANG YANG IN AN OPEN CRUISERWEIGHT INVITATIONAL MATCH FOR THE WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP I'm a very big fan of Cruiserweights, & I never get disappointed watching them, especially in this match here. Chavo Guerrero nails the Frog Splash on Jimmy Wang Yang to get the win & become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. 5/10

THIRD MATCH- FINLAY & LITTLE BASTARD VS. BOOGEYMAN & LITTLE BOOGEYMAN This was not really a wrestling match, it was more like a comedy match, despite not being a clear wrestling contest, it still entertained me with the funny antics. Finlay nails the Little Boogeyman with the Shillaegh to get the win. Boogeyman does not deserve to be on a PPV, & does not deserve to be in WWE. 4/10

FOURTH MATCH- KANE VS. KING BOOKER W/ SHARMELL This was a surprisingly good match, I thought it would be mediocre, but it turned out into a real competitive wrestling contest. Hats off to both men, pulling a very entertaining match. Kane wins after a Chokeslam on King Booker. 6/10

FIFTH MATCH- PAUL London & BRIAN KENDRICK {CHAMPIONS} VS. DEUCE & DOMINO W/ CHERRY FOR THE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Not really that much of a good match, Deuce & Domino need more training to wrestle, & London & Kendrick are the only ones keeping this match fast paced. London & Kendrick retain their titles, after Kendrick gets a roll-up on one of the guys for the win. 4/10

SIXTH MATCH- BOBBY LASHLEY {CHAMPION} VS. MR. KENNEDY FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Kennedy attacks Lashley from behind, before the match starts. It was an okay match, but not really good. Lashley & Kennedy have a bit of chemistry, but not enough to pull a great match. Kennedy wins by DQ, after Lashley nails him with a chair, then assaults him with the chair all the way to the entrance area. Lashley still retains his title. 4/10

SEVENTH MATCH- JOHN CENA & SHAWN MICHAELS VS. BATISTA & UNDERTAKER This is probably the greatest tag team match that I have ever seen. Hats off to all of these men {yes even Batista} for pulling off as close as a 5 star main event classic. All 4 of these men played their parts in the match very well, as this was a very great & entertaining tag team match. Batista turns his back on Undertaker spine-busting him, then leaving the ring, which prompts Michaels to nail Sweet Chin Music, then Cena to nail an F-U for the hard fought victory. 7/10

I don't know why everyone says that this PPV is not good enough, or it is boring, I just don't get it. It is a great PPV which Smackdown always delivers. A great PPV indeed.

Overall I'll give it 8/10 & a B+
