I was a little harsh on the opening episode, but I would say I enjoyed the concluding part a lot more. Still lots of anger, with everyone screaming and shouting at one another, but you very much see a coming together among the team. Well acted, I especially liked the performance this time round from Finbar Lynch, he managed to be both menacing and somehow sympathetic.
The anger would be toned down for the first full upcoming series, but what later return in a more measured way.
If ever there was a pilot episode that showed a caterpillar can turn into a butterfly this is it. So many shows are axed nowadays without second chance, and when you compare this pilot episode to the show at its peak,the contrast is astonishing. Waking the dead became one of the best crime dramas on British TV.
