Ahoy the boat!

Hi Bones Booth. (truly international now.) Hi from English Jan.

Hi Bones Booth. (truly international now.) Hi from English Jan.

This episode has a yucky theme. A Chinese skin sack was found in a river. I like to opening scene where Bones and Booth argue. I also like the scene in the lab where Bones stands up and walks out saying No Bones, so No Bones. Nice line.

There are a few things that I find odd. At first, Bones can speak some Mandarin, then later, she cannot. Then later, still she repeats it. Either she can, or she cannot; come on, writers, make up your mind.

Odd things that stick in my mind: Knee caps are the best part of the human body? Why? Is this some kind of strange fetish? Anyway, drawing a veil over that one and moving swiftly on.

When Booth, Cam and Bones are in the lab, Bones say, 's you don't need me. Booths look - classic. Cam clearly knows what Booth is thinking. Bones makes another sharp exit - Zacks line, "Wow, Dr B really likes that boat." Again Booths look kills me.

I didn't like the boys joking about the Mung hung- Deading, burial etc. This wasn't necessary.

The scene that had me laughing out loud was when Booth says that "all the older ladies say that." - Creepy but funny.

Booth proud/bragging about Bones stealing the bone from the Chinese woman- Booths face is priceless. Cam can now see clearly what's going on.

In the scene on the balcony between Sully & Bones - my heart goes out to poor Sully as it's evident that he doesn't stand a chance. Classic Bones hug.

My heart was in my mouth at the exhumation scene, where Bones tells Booth that Sully wants her to go with him. Booth laughs then tries to be supportive. Excellent acting.

Excellent song choice at the end.

Classic Bones/Booth dock moment - Big hint- "Everything happens eventually." - Be still my heart! Just for that line alone, this episode get's the 8/10.

I can't leave him

Warning: Spoilers
I found the story itself quite strange and boring, but the reason I gave this episode a pretty good rating is because of the (non)romance between Booth and Brennan.

Again, we see Sully and Brennan together. Sully's getting pretty serious with her and Brennan is even taking time off from the lab to spend time on his boat. Booth, of course, doesn't like this (I think he feels threatened) and he finds every opportunity he possibly can to get Brennan away from her romantic vacation and back into the lab. It's quite comical in the way he does it and of course Brennan doesn't put up much of a fuss.

Later, she is asked to take a break from work and go off with Sully on the boat. She says she can't leave, though she never says why she can't leave. Sully assumes it's the lab, but from the way she acts, I'm pretty sure it's "who" she can't leave then "what." Booth gives her a short speech at the end. I find hidden meanings in his little speech, and I also think it's for the audience as well...

Slow Getting There

I think the problem for me was an unfair one. I became tired of all the Chinese, ritualistic stuff. I suppose the research showed that these kinds of things go on in arranged marriages. They run counter to the law here, so... Anyway, the barbaric stuff that was done to the young woman was sickening. Also, the fact that a whole community would become complicit. Yes, she was damaged and the hearts were in the right place. We have the final climax of the chase for the Brennan prize between Booth and Sully. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where this is going to end up. There is just something that seems lacking in any sort of relationship with Brennan.

"No bones, no Bones"

Warning: Spoilers
Not much to say about the case of the episode. The family of a deceased man purchase the bones of our victim, Li Ling Fan, for a mínghun, "ghost marriage," ceremony. The victim's fiance runs away from Booth and leaps across the roof tops with such ease, it makes me wonder how often he's had to flee his home in that fashion. The murdering marriage broker certainly puts on a good face initially. I actually believed she didn't know anything about Li Ling Fan's death.

The more important part of the episode, in my opinion, is technically the B plot. Sully asks Bones to take a sabbatical with him and sail around the Caribbean. Angela is a good friend and pleads with Bones to go, I just wish she had gotten through to her. Obviously the show wouldn't be the same without its namesake, but I think the writers should have made it work. Maybe have Bones run off with Sully, but cut the trip short and have her back in an episode or two. I wonder if Professor Shi, the cultural anthropologist, got under her skin by saying she's no longer dedicated to the larger truth and that's why she didn't go. Now she has something to prove. Bon voyage, Peanut! You will be missed.

Hey Bones Booth Pod!

Warning: Spoilers
Another ep full of great guest stars. The officer who opened the chest was Eric Stonestreet aka Cam from Modern Family. Professor Shi is Michael Paul Chan aka Mike Tao from the Closer and Major Crimes. Mai Zhang is Lucille Soong aka Grandma Huang from Fresh Off the Boat. Joseph Han is James Hong who has literally been in a bit of everything. Ok Booth we all know you're just jealous of her vacationing with Sully and are finding ways to pull her away. The "Skin Sack" was a particularly gruesome body. Hahaha No Bones, No Bones was hilarious and topped off with the explanation. I would like to know why Bones feels the kneecap is the most important part of the body. No Zack Bones likes who's on the boat. Yyaayy glad Sully finally got his boat. As sad as the break up was there was no way Bones would leave her loved ones or her job.
