Quotes

  • Charles Logan : [about Russian Consul Markov]  He says he hasn't spoken to Gredenko in a year. He's lying - they're still in contact, and he knows enough about what's going on and and wanted to deny that.

Jack Bauer : How do you know?

Charles Logan : Because I've done enough lying myself to know the signs.

  • Charles Logan : [while he leaves his retreat with Jack to go to the Russian Consulate]  I haven't been outside these gates in over a year, I'm sorry, you don't need me to tell you what it's like being locked up

    Jack Bauer : That's right I don't

Charles Logan : But I know what it's like being locked away from the rest of the world: lonely, the silence, it plays with your sanity, and in that silence you can hear the voice of your deepest self and if you listen to that voice, you have a chance to heal

  • Anatoly Markov : [Talking privately]  my sincerest sympathies for your people from the tragedy this morning: you have the condolences and support from my country. So, how can I help you?

Charles Logan : The bomb that exploded this morning was a Russian nuclear suitcase device supplied to the terrorists by Dmitri Gredenko

Charles Logan : [after Markov offers him a cigar]  no thank you, I don't smoke anymore

Anatoly Markov : These weapons were destroyed as part of our treaty

Charles Logan : We're certain of our facts but I didn't come here to make accusations. I came here because we need to know where Gredenko is

Anatoly Markov : I will try to ask Moscow to try to locate him immediately

Charles Logan : I'm not asking Moscow, I'm asking "you." I know that you two are close and you have been since you fought together in Afghanistan. So I'll ask again: where is he?

Anatoly Markov : I don't know, Dmitri and I were close for many years but not anymore

Charles Logan : Forgive me for my lack of diplomacy but I don't believe you and I'm willing to force the issue. Moscow has always suspected someone inside the Russian government helped supply the Sentox nerve gas to Separatists two years ago. I have the tapes, of every phone call you made to my people. I will send them to President Suvarov

Anatoly Markov : You gave me your word that my role would remain secret

Charles Logan : My promise rendered null and void by the fact that the terrorists Gredenko is helping have three more bombs

Anatoly Markov : I haven't spoken to Gredenko for more than a year

Charles Logan : I will send the tapes, you'll be recalled to Moscow and you will never be heard of again

Anatoly Markov : Send all the tapes you like, I do not know where Gredenko is

Charles Logan : Alright, I believe you. Please forgive my tactics. I'm trying to save people's lives
