• Charles Logan : [about Russian Consul Markov]  He says he hasn't spoken to Gredenko in a year. He's lying - they're still in contact, and he knows enough about what's going on and and wanted to deny that.

  Jack Bauer : How do you know?

  Charles Logan : Because I've done enough lying myself to know the signs.

• Charles Logan : [while he leaves his retreat with Jack to go to the Russian Consulate]  I haven't been outside these gates in over a year, I'm sorry, you don't need me to tell you what it's like being locked up

  Charles Logan : But I know what it's like being locked away from the rest of the world: lonely, the silence, it plays with your sanity, and in that silence you can hear the voice of your deepest self and if you listen to that voice, you have a chance to heal

• Bill Buchanan : [Over the phone]  are you on your way to the Consulate?

  Jack Bauer : Yes

  Bill Buchanan : Before you get there, you need to know something: there was an assassination attempt on President Palmer. He was wounded but we don't know the extent of his injuries yet

  Jack Bauer : My God, how did this happen?

  Bill Buchanan : Details are still coming in, Secret Service thinks it was Assad

  Bill Buchanan : They think he smuggled in some kind of explosive device into the White House bunker

  Jack Bauer : That doesn't make sense, Assad was working with the President to stop Fayed

  Bill Buchanan : That's what he "said" he was doing

  Jack Bauer : He wasn't lying

  Bill Buchanan : His dead: it doesn't matter if it was him or not, he can't help us stop Fayed, which means your following our only "live" lead

  Jack Bauer : [Before hanging up]  I understand, I'll get back to you as soon as I'm at the Consulate

• Jack Bauer : [while Markov is tied to a chair]  I want to know where Gredenko is and what his doing

  Anatoly Markov : I don't know. I haven't spoken to Gredenko since he arrived in the United States

  Jack Bauer : I never said he was in the United States: why don't I tell you what we know. We already know Gredenko supplied Fayed with five suitcase nukes, what doesn't make sense is why his still involved, unless of course his doing "something" else for Fayed. That's what we want to know

  Jack Bauer : [Yells]  what is Gredenko doing for Fayed?

  Anatoly Markov : I don't know

  Jack Bauer : [Before showing Markov his own cigar cutter]  you're going to tell me what I want to know or you're going to start losing your fingers one by one: this is your last chance

  Jack Bauer : [after cutting off one of Markov's fingers]  you have one of two choices, you can either give me the information I want, I'll go pick up Gredenko or I can kill you and I'll make sure Gredenko finds out and he'll panic because he'll think you gave him up before you died. Either way, he stops what his doing in this country now. The choice is yours

  Jack Bauer : [Yells, pointing his gun closer to Markov's head]  how do I find Gredenko?

  Anatoly Markov : Mojave Desert, in the Shadow Valley

  Jack Bauer : Where in the Shadow Valley?

  Jack Bauer : [Yells]  what is he doing?

  Anatoly Markov : [Smiles]  launching drones

  Jack Bauer : What?

  Anatoly Markov : Aerial drones with Fayed, with the four nuclear suitcase bombs

  Jack Bauer : How soon will the drones be ready?

  Anatoly Markov : Two hours. In two hours all the bombs will be in the air

  Jack Bauer : [Before punching Markov]  son of a bitch

• Jack Bauer : [while tied to a chair]  please you have to listen to me

  Stovich : I'm not allowed to talk to you

  Jack Bauer : Because you're Consul doesn't want you to hear what I know: Dmitri Gredenko is responsible for supplying the terrorists with the nuclear bomb that was detonated earlier today. Markov is working with them against the US and your government

  Stovich : You'll get the chance to make these allegations through the appropriate channels

  Jack Bauer : There's not enough time. Gredenko has three more bombs: they're going to find their targets by way of unmanned drone aircrafts

  Stovich : With the Consul's knowledge? That's a ridiculous accusation

  Jack Bauer : He's the one who told me. He confessed

  Stovich : [Raises his voice]  under duress

  Jack Bauer : He gave me Gredenko's location. He told me the aircraft will be ready to launch in two hours. I know you believe me, you know about Markov's connection to Gredenko. Please, you have to help

  Stovich : If you are telling me the truth, there's nothing I can do. The Consul monitors all communications to Moscow

  Jack Bauer : I don't want you to call Moscow, I want you to call CTU, I want you to give them Gredenko's location and advise them of the timeframe

  Stovich : Where is he?

  Jack Bauer : Somewhere in the desert, in Shadow Valley: you need to call 310-597-3781. You need to tell them you have a message for Bill Buchanan from me. My name is Jack Bauer, please?
