Not Quite a Masterpiece.

This is a really solid achievement in low budget horror film-making. As I was not expecting much I was really surprised by how funny it was.

Obviously there is the requisite bad acting and overall cheapness that you'd expect from low-budge fare like this, but unlike the seemingly endless barrage of crap out there this one had me watching till the end. Maybe the cheap look would have bothered me more if it were two hours but at fifteen or twenty minutes it wasn't a problem.

I'll give this little gem ten stars just because I liked it. I gave "The Hills Have Eyes 2" zero stars because that movie blew monkey boners and they had a proper budget. It just goes to show that sometimes the little guys do it better.

A boyfriend must confront his recently zombified crazy girlfriend, who has an aching for Troma's Lloyd Kauffman!

This short is a good example of what hungry filmmakers can do despite obstacles of finance, equipment, and time. They become intensely resourceful! Hell they even got Lloyd Kauffman of Troma Films to be involved! Most beginning filmmakers wouldn't have a clue to work a narrative around his (Lloyd's) submitted material but director Tim Mathers and company did. You will have to see it to understand.

The actor's performances might not be a driving point, but then again it is a fun "b" genre piece, and doesn't need to be weighted on the actors. However, Culture, seems to be the standout presence. There is a playful since of lighting, and exploration thru the lens. Given more time and $ this would be a stronger piece. But kudos go out for this successful endeavor.

I am patiently awaiting the next film venture by the frantic, hyperactive filmmaker.
