I will never watch this movie again
peaciee10 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
On the day of their wedding, MARCUS AND VIVIAN have an automobile accident. VIVIAN ends up in a coma. After a year, the doctor tells Marcus it is hopeless. Marcus leaves the hospital thinking his wife is being taken off life support. He does not wait for her to die.

In less than a year, he has a pregnant wife --- DUE ANY DAY! No time was wasted nor was there a funeral for the first wife.

Marcus learns his first wife is alive; HE IS STILL MARRIED. So, he brings her to his home and she lives with him and his second wife-- because she has no where to go and no money.

Note: when Marcus goes to the hospital to pick up this wife -- she is dressed in her wedding dress which is covered in blood. I wonder if that was supposed to be funny.

What man would leave a hospital before the wife who is supposedly dying -- dies? Why no funeral? He thought she was dead? UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The second wife stresses out and goes into labor. She gives birth to a baby girl and now the second wife IS IN A COMA. While her bedside, Marcus tells her he loves her. But, he is in love with the first wife! WHO DOES THAT? The second wife hears this confession while standing outside of the hospital room. She walks in the room and tells him she is there for him. The two of them WHILE STANDING on the side of the second wife's bed -- express their love and support for each other. SHOCKING!!! The first wife goes back to him and they have children.

What woman would take back a man who left her in a hospital while in a coma to die AND no funeral?????? Who does that?! What was the writer thinking? I saw no humor in this movie -- zip. This movie is one of the worst I have seen -- I will never-ever watch this movie again. I cannot believe I DID.

I can't believe I watched that
whatevers77724 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I really can't believe I watched that!

The previews were misleading, making you think that it was some light hearted comedy, but the previews were the best that it gets. I did not see it as a comedy as they claimed. The ending was terrible too!

Clever title though, I see why they called it what they did. That was the only good part of it.

There was so many ethical things wrong with this story. The story should not have allowed the two people to sleep together, it was "happily ever after" for the two who ended up together, even though he was basically cheating on his current wife. Why couldn't the writers make him man up to his current wife before he got back together with his first coma wife. And it wasn't coma wife's fault that the woman fainted after giving her soda and over-salting the pregnant wife's food? Is that supposed to be funny? Is that some light hearted joke? I don't think so! Lame!

So Awful It Doesn't Even Deserve To Be Televised!!
solar_flower25 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this movie on BET. I was disgusted throughout and had to turn it off when the characters, Vivian and Marcus, start professing their love for each other at the hospital bedside of his critically ill wife, Jenny, WHO JUST GAVE BIRTH TO MARCUS'S CHILD. I was disgusted, shocked and appalled. I don't understand why the writers, Cherie Johnson and Charisse Edey, thought that this was the best resolution for the circumstances in the movie. It's as if they have some warped sense of justice.

Furthermore, if the writers wanted Vivian and Marcus to reunite, they should have made the Vivian character more appealing to the audience. Instead, she spends most of the movie sleeping with Marcus and mentally and physically terrorizing Jenny (who is pregnant) which ultimately caused the poor woman's demise. The Jenny character is an unwitting victim of Marcus's infidelity and Vivian's vindictive and childish behavior.

There are so many great writers who can't even get their stories produced because they lack the right contacts. I don't even know why or how this movie received the funding (though apparently minimal based on the poor quality of the production) and the "okay" to be made and ultimately televised to apparently disgust the viewers. BET! Can you hear me?! Evolve! Grow! Be More Selective! You can do it. I know you can.

Still waiting for something good to happen
joybel526 February 2011
This is an embarrassment to African American movies. It was on twice within 24 hours. I thought I fell asleep on something, so I watched it through the second time. It was just as ridiculous the second time as it was the first. Too much happened within a 2 year period. He was so in love, and the grieving period had to be very brief for the pregnancy. This was not real at all. Living under the same roof was plain "nasty" of both women. I loved Cherie in the sitcom "Family Matters," but I've lost all respect for her after seeing this. I can't find enough adjectives to describe how degrading I think this movie was : Ludicrous, ridiculous, ignorant, ghetto, racist etc. I lived during a time when there were no black faces on the TV. This set us back to Pre- Civil Rights period.

terrible film, waste of time
bmisaac0720 May 2014
I can't believe I sat there and watched this whole thing! I guess I was hoping that eventually it'll get better but it kept getting worst and worst! The acting is terrible, the story is unbelievable, and this movie just seemed like one big joke instead of a serious film that people actually spent money on to make! Take my advice, don't waste two hours of your life on this film, you'll regret it, I promise you! It is supposed to be some kind of drama-comedy type of film, but the "drama" aspect of it was cheesy and the "comedy" of it was no where to be found. The characters were so lame and story will leave you upset all the way until the bitter end. Terrible film!

Worst Movie ever
zimba_c23 July 2013
The pace, the acting, the plot, everything about this movie was contrived and awful. Im only writing this review to warn unsuspecting viewers like myself - who regrets the time wasted - Don't do it! Black Directors, producers, actors get serious this is exploitation of your audience and it almost put me off black movies for life! How much money was spent making this? How much profit was made ripping off the people that paid to watch this? Im making a mental note to never watch anything by this director. Actors don't compromise your craft by participating in such movies - don't let desperation kill your career, read the script! There is nothing good that can be said about this movie nothing at all!

I did..."I do...I did" Warning: Spoilers
so, a couple gets married. they are madly in love. on the way to their honeymoon they get in a car accident. the bride is now in a coma. from the get go, the groom is the scapegoat in which everybody blames for whatever happens to his lovely bride. one year passes as evidenced by a calender montage. marcus (the groom) has maxed out his credit cards and has no other option but to take her off life support. at this point i thought the movie was going to go in the direction of making a comment about our screwed up medical system. after all marcus says to the doctor in passing, "this medical system sucks." however, the plot which unfolds after that is so absurd that there is no way to predict it. its not a good kind of unpredictable either. bad writing, bad directing, bad production values, bad acting aside this is the most fun i've had in a long time watching a bad movie. all the characters are either shallow, stupid, mean spirited or all of those things. it is never clear who the protagonist is. is it the bride who suddenly woke up from her coma only to find that marcus married and knocked up a white girl? is it marcus who professed his undying love for his coma bride only to remarry after he thought she was dead? or is the pregnant new bride who graciously lets coma girl stay at her house only to take her conniving abuse? the answer: it doesn't matter. nothing could've saved this movie. it is a freak of cinema nature. therefore, enjoy the extreme badness. i did...do.

I hate this movie with everything I could muster...
QStrum30 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Remember those days when independent black filmmakers were making these terrible, extra low budget, poorly executed movies and Starz used to air them, such turds like Nothing' 2 Lose (2000), G (2002), and almost everything from Maverick Entertainment? I guess these type of films are still being made.

This film is atrocious in every way. The camera work was boring, uninspired and inept. The lighting was flat and in most cases, nonexistent. The writing lacked plausibility and depth, with the most unmotivated, unlikable characters in the history of film. The editing was sloppy. The performances were melodramatic. Too much arguing, forcing conflict and drama in scenarios where there clearly wasn't any.

Whoever said the film is racist is right. The white wife was treated worst than anything I have ever seen in this genre of movie. The black people got away with everything from totally disrespecting the white wife in her own home to slapping her while she was pregnant. I truly believed that the writers wrote this steaming pile to vent their obvious hatred for white women. Well, their effort was an epic fail as I ended up only caring about the white wife.

As for Vivian, the so-called protagonist, I was praying a building would fall from the sky and land on her, crushing her like the little roach she was.

Every thing about this movie was insanely absurd, especially the ending. There wasn't any redeeming factors or any justice, morally or figuratively. It was just a racist, idiotic waste of HD files that shows how messed up black people are.

Great
carlitothedancer24 May 2011
I love this movie....very creative and different storyline....I can't believe the negative feedback...I have this in my collection and I watch it every time BET shows it......great cast.....great music....I want the soundtrack to the film....Cherie looked great as did Shar Jackson.....Marcus Patrick also did a great job and Antwan Tanner was phenomenal...I look forward to the next film that Cherie does should be another classic film....say what you want but BET is playing it heavy....can't too many movies say that....I don't get the racist overtones people talk about though....it is typical everyday life....the writing was also great for this film.

This HAS to be a prank...
musiqliblessed26 July 2021
What an atrocious and confounding piece of dribble disguised as a film. Shameful, ugly, idiotic, degrading, immoral, even blasphemous. Poorly constructed. A mar on the careers of actors I can't even believe agreed to do this. Obba Bobatunde??? Obba Bobatunde!! He was being drugged for the entirety of this film's production, I'm absolutely certain of this. Shar Jackson...in the words of Nick Joseph "Baby, what is you doin'??"

If you want to be angry, watch this. Or if you're like my husband who gets some kind of twisted joy watching a train wreck for the comic relief, sure...watch this.

My personal recommendation, if you see a physical copy of this film, do the world a favor, be a hero, burn it! All efforts to erase this film from history should be made.

Unbelievable.
