When Sarah Jane suggests "Harry" and "Alastair" as names for the boy who ends up being called "Luke", she is probably referring to Harry Sullivan and Brigadier Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart, two men she knew from her time adventuring with the Doctor in the original Doctor Who (1963). Earlier, their photographs can be seen on the walls of her attic.
Among the other photos on the walls in Sarah Jane's room, there is one of her and K9 that was a promo shot from the first attempt at a spin-off, K-9 and Company: A Girl's Best Friend (1981).
The comforter set that Maria uses is the same set used for the children in the Doctor Who (2005) episodes Silence in the Library (2008) and Forest of the Dead (2008).
