The hybrid of Footballers Wives and Wire in the Blood.

Kay Mellor tends to have the midas touch, it's a family trait along with Sister Gaynor, both have had a hand in some great dramas.

Strictly confidential, is a really bizarre mix, there's a hell of a lot going on in it, we've got affairs, a murder, lesbian cops, sex therapy, lots of sex scenes and huge amounts of floppy hair.

It's a little bit like Footballers wives meets Fat Friends meets Wire in the Blood. Set around a sex clinic, therapist Linda is the lead, a cop turned therapist, who is called in to assist when women start dying, murdered by auto asphyxia. Lots going on, the lighter side revolves around the patients and their stories, the darker side being the murders, and the emotional side focusing on the lives of Linda, husband Richard and his brother Greg. Desperate for a baby Linda will go to almost any lengths to conceive.

It takes a few episodes to get going, once you get to Part 3 onwards it opens up and really becomes good drama. Part 1 is definitely trashy, Nikki Sanderson's Tiffany, her mum Tina are totally trashy, they are straight out of Footballer's Wives. Killer's identity is a little bit of a giveaway, but it's not a true focus, it's more about the characters. Conclusion is great.

Suranne Jones, she's excellent as the lead role Linda, a really great actress, he looks really great too, a sex therapist and ex cop, not easy to pull off. She' well supported by Tristan Gemmill and Cristian Solimeno, the latter is actually really good, proving he's not just a good looking boy, but quite a good actor. Eva Pope is good, a little clichéd, but she carries it off. Tony Maudsley is really fun in Part 4, he does whatever he's given to do, he's great.

It's a satisfying series, stick with it, Part 1's the weakest bit, but there's a great story beneath all the nooky. 8/10
