Warm Springs is the second-to-last-episode of Vanished
tavm4 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Before I recap this week's episode, I have to mention that after Eddie Morrell killed himself, his men took a tracking device from his skin and inserted it in Sara. So now Sara identified herself to the Sheriff and his men. They take her to headquarters. Sheriff calls Lucas at FBI. Lucas says he's on his way and orders to not let Sara talk to anyone until he gets there. A man who ID's himself as Lucas shoots the Sheriff and all his men. It's Sara's kidnappers! Sara escapes from the holding room and runs out of sight amid all the killings as the real Lucas and Lin Mei arrive. The next day, Max and the bio-mother return to the Collins estate. Lucas and Lin Mei come and ask Max about the video that had him bad-mouthing his stepmom. We find out he was talking to Quinn Keeler, the woman who Marcy's boyfriend Ben hung out with and who previously was jailed for sabotaging missing Sara's investigation. The "Nikki" storyline returns with the fisherman finding out that the girl that Sara's parents are keeping away from him is, in fact, his daughter. Sara's mother is intent on keeping the daughter away from newspapers and other media outlets but she keeps finding out about her mother anyway. The fisherman gets pulled away just as he starts to ask his daughter something. Meanwhile, via flashbacks, Sara finds out about her parents sending her to a "rehabilitation" center and that she remembers feeling something as the device was put in her. At a diner restroom, she breaks a mirror and uses a shard glass to get the device out of her skin before her kidnappers, who are near by, can find her. She then hitches a ride with a stranger who lies about his cell phone having low charge when she asks for it. Before Lucas questions Keeler, he shows live coverage of Judy Nash saying Quinn has agreed to cooperate with the FBI (Lucas had just promised Nash an exclusive and this was it). Knowing her goose is cooked, Quinn has no choice but to cooperate with Agent Lucas. She shows him where Sara was tortured. Lucas breaks a wall as he and Lin Mei find a room with various electronic torture devices. Back to Sara and the stranger, Sara manages to convince him to stop the car, inferring sexual favors before knocking him out busting his lower regions (ouch!) and knocking his head against a glass window. She then takes the ignition as she calls the Collins household asking for husband Jeffry. The ex-wife answers instead, so Sara hangs up. She keeps going as we fade...Okay, with one more episode to go, I hope most, if not all, the plots are wrapped up. I mean, what was Ben, who was absent this episode, going to do when he finds Judge Warren Rainer? Why do the kidnappers want Sara so bad? And did that "rehabilatation" center make Sara have amnesia and hitch a ride with someone who was on his way to Massachusetts where she found that fisherman, according to one of her flashbacks? So many questions and one more hour next week to answer them... Update 7/24/07-What you've just read was actually titled The Velocity of Sara which is Episode 12.
