San Diego, CA, January 31, 2024 – Media Do Co., Ltd., Japan's largest eBook distribution company, and its U.S.-based subsidiary Media Do International Inc., have partnered with Taicca, a Taiwan-based nonprofit organization that supports the production, distribution, development, and overseas expansion of Taiwan's creative content, to translate and promote original right-to-left comics created by an array of Taiwanese manga creators into English and Japanese language formats. Four Taiwanese manga titles will launch this initiative and are also the first e-book comics from Yuzu comics, which is Media Do's vertical scrolling digital comics initiative.
The new titles include the single-volume, slice-of-life drama Confessions Of A 35-year-old, the single-volume Bl romance Three Seconds After Our Eyes Met, the 3-volume comical supernatural fantasy The Light Conjurer, and the single-volume post-apocalyptic romantic Bl adventure Loving You When The World Ended.

Variety reports that Glenn McQuaid’s graverobbing-and-zombies opus I Sell The Dead (pictured) will be the opening-night feature at the 15th Slamdance Film Festival. The independent-cinema event runs January 15-23 in Park City, Utah.
Written and directed by McQuaid and produced as part of Larry Fessenden’s Scareflix line, I Sell The Dead is a Gothic period chiller starring Dominic (Lost) Monaghan and Fessenden as body-stealers. The cast also includes genre veterans Ron Perlman and Angus Scrimm; you can read our advance rave here and see the film’s official website here. Other genre fare playing Slamdance includes Jordan Galland’s Shakespearean vampire comedy Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead, Steven Sheil’s twisted family shocker Mum & Dad, Clint Hutchison’s haunted-cabin flick Conjurer and Zombie Girl, Justin Johnson, Aaron Marshall and Erik Mauck’s documentary about preteen horror filmmaker Emily Hagins.

Mega-sloppy cult mini-classic Pieces hits DVD this week, but my copy hasn't arrived yet, so check out Bd's fine review by slasher-lover David Harley.
If you like Leprechaun, Warlock, and comic book adaptations, Shock has some good news for you. And Twitchfilm has a great little interview with the director of Tokyo Gore Police. And MTV talks Medusas and Krakens. Oooh, and Lionsgate is planning a My Bloody Valentine special edition DVD to tie in with their remake.
Anyone remember me (and the other horror nerds) raving about a Canadian horror flick called End of the Line? If so you'll be pleased to note that the DVD is now available in R1 -- but only from Canadian distributors. More info here.
Ugo has an exclusive peek at the brand-new trailer for The Grudge 3 right here.
A few weeks back, director Clint Hutchison asked me if I could take a look...
