When Julie goes to her parents' Long Island home, there are mums, green grass, and lots of green-leaved trees. This is not consistent with winter in New York, especially so close to Christmas.
She is mugged and sent to the hospital for 2 days. While in the hospital the guy who stole her stuff uses her card and cleans out her account. The bank doesn't refund the money as they should because she can prove it was not her but the thief that did it. Plus, the police would be involved. For her to end up without money and to be homeless is not realistic.
