Norris bids his wife farewell one morning from his cosy suburban semi on the outskirts of London, and sets off on a road trip up north. His car appears to break down not far north of Watford - so he then makes his way to a nearby truck stop.
He persuades a reluctant artic driver to drive him to Newcastle, and they start to chat. However, the driver soon starts to feel a little uneasy, as his passenger seems to have more about him than meets the eye...
This is one of the more acceptable episodes from this slightly odd series, and at least kept my attention right till the end. As with many other stories from this show, it seems to pit two characters against each other in a claustrophobic environment - one of them appearing innocent, then seemingly having an unpleasant surprise up their sleeve for the other.
We have some recognizable faces once again from British TV in the shape of Jack Hedley, Barry Jackson and Geoffrey James, and the setting (almost solely taking place in the cab of a lorry) is suitably tense and uncomfortable.
It's quite watchable and typical of this unusual series, but still leaves the viewer perhaps feeling ultimately a bit disappointed that this particular journey never really gets out of second gear.
