Clark finds Oreo cookies, which is a clue to the identity of his "mysterious" savior. In the comics, the Martian Manhunter has a special fondness for Oreos.
First appearance of Martian Manhunter. Created by writer Joseph Samachson and artist Joe Certa, the character first appeared in Detective Comics #225 in November 1955. He is also a core member of the Justice League.
Aldar telling Clark that "everyone's gotta eat" is ironic because Superman usually does not require food to sustain himself, receiving all his energy from the yellow sun.
Clark says that Martian Manhunter had powers that he only could dream of. One of these powers is flight, a power which Clark has yet to master, except in dreams.
