Love/hate

Binge watching from Prime a show I haven't seen since it's original airing was one of my smarter moves. I love this show.

But after reading reviews, I was genuinely confused by how many people watch the show regularly, but hate the character House.

I can't relate to them. It's House's flaws that make him interesting. And different then most tv shows.

Every other show has a perfect lead character. And that's why I don't watch those shows. They're boring.

House may be a lot of things, but he's never boring.

This episode introduces Detective Tritter, a character that I love/hate. Love because he's played brilliantly by David Morse.

Hate because I think he's more of a bully then House ever was. And if I remember correctly, this is proven within the next few episodes.

No, I don't think House was at fault. Not even a little. Watching that David Morse stare, told me he was a hypocrite. . That's not easy as an actor. To come off as the victim, while being a bully himself. And he was definitely showing his character usually gets his way.

Some say House caused the ensuing dust up between the two.

Again, I don't. Maybe it's because Hugh is so amazing as House, I feel like I know the guy. But who knows?.

The other story line about a young couple was interesting, and had a surprising finish. No, I didn't see that coming.

Odd episode
xredgarnetx18 November 2006
I watched most of this episode, but I need to see it again. A husband and wife arrive with some very odd ailments, and House has a heckuva time sorting this one out. The ending is a shocker, at least for someone like moi who never figures out twist endings (except for THE SIXTH SENSE). As I said, I will need to see this one again. I may be off, but this may be the episode that introduces David Morse as House's latest nemesis. On the other hand, that might be the next episode. Morse really brings some pizazz to the series as a cop that House needlessly humiliates, and who decides to humiliate -- nay, crush -- House in return. Morse, you may recall, was a fuzzy-cheeked intern in the very first adult-oriented prime time hospital drama, ST. ELSEWHERE. That was a long time ago. Most of you weren't even born yet.

Good Solid Episode

Warning: Spoilers
My only complaint is that this episode was made too close to the episode about the boy who imagined aliens. He had a twin and still contained remnants/ evidence of the twin in his body. This is too similar to this episode which turns out to be about a young married couple who are half brother and sister. House finally diagnoses their disease and figures out the two lived next door to each other growing up. The dad was very upset with the marriage, but instead of telling these kids he is both of their dads , he doesn't say anything. House is left to figure out the mess and Foreman tells them they probably have the same dad. The eye color was clue.

I loved this episode.

I really liked this episode. It was really entrancing and the twist at the end was so sad! I couldn't believe that they were brother and sister. They loved each other so much but everything changed when Foreman told them that their condition was usually passed on genetically. I don't think they should have told them myself tho, they loved each other too much and it was all crushed in a second. In a way it was the right thing to do because if they ever had kids they could end but being mentally ill. Then they would find out that way and I think that would've been a lot worse to find out that way. The episode was so sad tho, I almost cried!

Detective Michael Tritter
DailyMovieGoer31 May 2020
Two days after the George Floyd murder in Minneapolis and binge watching House, the scenes with Detective Michael Tritter takes on a whole new color given the general systemic abuses of power by LEO's. This episode demonstrates candidly what that abuse is like and while typically directed at minorities, shows the hubris and this time, was directed at House, a doctor. Not sure why this was so hard for me to watch since I fully watched the Floyd video, but none the less, this is a hard episode to watch fully to the end.
