This is the first time we've seen Elizabeth and Carolyn in a while, and when Carolyn walks into the living room in her green outfit, she is stunning. In my opinion, she is the most beautiful of the young women on the show, and Joan Bennett is sophisticated and grand, getting to where more flattering clothes that aren't as dowdy looking on her as they were in the black and white episodes. We find out that Elizabeth owns Seabrook, the house that Victoria, Barnabas and Burke looked at, and Elizabeth is stunned when Burke offers to buy it. Elizabeth and Burke are shocked by the deed which indicates that the house is not for sale, and obviously Elizabeth is going to try to overturn that. So a new mystery begins.
The house actually looks very habitable, and it appears that Burke could be interested in settling down with Victoria, and Elizabeth graciously approves, a sign that the pain of the past has ended and that Elizabeth and Burke can become friends. But in spite of her verbal acceptance of Burke and Victoria's romance, the look on her face indicates that Carolyn feels otherwise. We get another scene between Victoria and Maggie where they discuss her lack of a memory, and somehow little flashes of memory strike her. But a sudden visit by Dr. Hoffman threatens to undo this, and Julia is worried. Julia, ever resourceful, uses her magical necklace to manipulate her, and the villainy of the situation is a campy moment worth remembering.
