The trailer for horror film Blood Fare has been released online after having its world premiere on the Big City Comics video wall at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.
It's the fourth film from writer-director J.A. Steel following her horror shocker Denizen, supernatural thriller Salvation and action feature The Third Society.
Steel attended the premiere with cast members Gil Gerard (famous for his lead role in the TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) and Savannah Ostler (Vengeance, Splattercontainer Scream Queen October 2010).
Also there was Jeff Kaufman, creator of the new graphic novel Terminal Alice, published by Big City Comics and centring on five female contract killers who find they each have a price on their head and must work together to find out who wants them dead. Pictured above at the launch are Resurrection Studios' Dave Stewart, Savannah Ostler, Gil Gerard and Jeff Kaufman.

We’ve been following the progress of feemale action filmmaker J.A. Steel’s fourth film Blood Fare, a Civil War ghost story with a modern twist, starring Gil Gerard – aka TV’s Buck Rogers, for some time now and I’m glad to be able to bring you the latest poster for the film.
Blood Fare is the tale of Corporal Henry Trout (S. Edward Meek), who in 1861 fought valiantly in a forgotten skirmish after the first battle of Bull Run. 150 years later, he will come face-to-face with his descendants as the battle for blood continues on a haunted battlefield. Tyler (Brandi Lynn Anderson) and her brother, Chad (Adrian West), Henry’s fifth generation grandchildren, will challenge the very legend of Charon the Ferryman as the lines between the living and the dead become blurred.
If you haven’t seen the teaser trailer for the film you can check it out here.

Seriously, are you suggesting that we don't?
Jessica M. Bair is the producer of the new horror film Blood Fare, which she describes as a "fast-paced, fun, and suspenseful ghost story, with a plot around the 150th anniversary of the Us Civil War, which we celebrate next year."
Blood Fare is the 4th independent genre feature film of lesbian filmmaker J.A. Steel.
Sultry comedian Bridget McManus, who will play 'Kayla', probably a villainess.
The film, which is in production, stars Gil Gerard (of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century fame) as Professor Meade, mentor to the protagonist Tyler, a lesbian PhD student in a committed relationship. Also joining the cast are three celebrity lesbians (celebrians? lesebrities?): Michelle Wolff (Dante’s Cove), Bridget McManus (Logo’s “That Time of the Month”) and Natalie Garcia (Showtime’s "The Real L Word" Live Lounge.)
Here is the official synopsis: Corporal Henry Trout...

Director and doorQer J.A. Steel's latest feature, Denizen, has jumped to the top of the IndieFlix charts. Denizen follows a group of scientists and soldiers as the work to stop a mysterious creature from destroying a small town. The film stars Julie Lisandro (Cheerleader Massacre), Glen Jensen (Fingerprints, Soul's Midnight), Ben Bayless and Jody Mullins in this latest horror-action shocker. AnythingHorror.com, said of the film: "But once in a while we get a really ambitious indie project like Denizen, which is written, directed, produced, and edited by J.A. Steel (she also did the fight choreography, the stunts, and was the underwater camera operator). Denizen shakes off the slasher plot-line in favor of the “creature feature” story and has a cast of 39 actors. That’s a f**king lot for an indie feature (Steel even uses military vehicles and a lot of props)....if you’re looking for some...

Denizen, the third feature from action-oriented filmmaker J.A. Steel (The Third Society, Salvation), has completed post production. Starring Julie Lisandro (Cheerleader Massacre) and Glen Jensen (Fingerprints), Denizen is about a group of scientists, who have to stop a mysterious creature from attacking a small town.
Drawing on her experience in her first feature film, the action indie The Third Society, Steel brings back a tough motorcycle-riding main character in the form of Sierra Deacon. It is Deacon's team, consisting of the highly skilled scientists Dexter Maines (Ben Bayless) and Dallas Murphy (Jody Mullins), which has to support the locals, led by Callie Calhoun (Julie Lisandro), to save their town from the creature. After several deaths, a special Army Unit led by General Jernigan (Glen Jensen) is called in to contain the creature. Or if necessary, to destroy the town...

On the evening of 4 November 2009, Hrc Utah was proud to join TransAction and the Utah Pride Center for a Wine & Cheese Gathering for board and staff of allied organizations, such as Equality Utah. The event started Transgender Awareness month off with a very informative and insightful presentation on Transgender Awareness / Transgender 101.
The round-table type discussion by the representatives of the several Lgbt organizations illustrated the need for Transgender education in the community, and in the general public, for inclusive equality. Hrc Utah members participating in the discussion on Transgender issues included Valerie Larabee, Hrc Utah Dinner Co-Chair and Federal Club member & Utah Pride Center Executive Director; Marina Gomberg, Hrc Utah Membership and Community Events Co-Chair & Utah Pride Center Director of Development & Marketing; Jessica Bair, Hrc Board of Governors; and J.A. Steel, Hrc Federal Club Council member and filmmaker.

"And where are all the gods? Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?" Bonnie Tyler's song from "Footloose" has been echoing through my head lately. And the Original theme from the real "Battlestar Galactica." Everything is a remake anymore. It makes me sick to my stomach. So, when I don't like something. I change it. Bring the characters, bring the heroes back. I worked for Sho Kosugi and the one thing I knew - he really was that good. Will my arrogance be my downfall? Perhaps. Only time will tell...but to change it you have to believe you are capable of even doing it in the first place.
My third feature film, "Denizen" is nearing completion. I've screened the rough cut for a few of my friends. I've gotten the complaints it's too gritty - too much action and not enough sex. That everyone wants "more...
