More Secrets from the Past
Rcwilkinson1238 October 2007
Oliver Queen's and Lex Luthor's reason for animosity towards each other is revealed in this interesting episode of "Smallville."

One of Oliver's high school buddies mysteriously gets murdered at their high school reunion, the same boarding school that Lex also attended. Oliver blames Lex for the friend's death, but there's much more behind the real killer. This revelation manifests itself after several flashes to the past involving the school rivalry of the bully Oliver, his two chums, against Lex and his friend Duncan, who Lex betrays in an attempt to fit in.

This episode is interesting because it creates a new backstory to one of the show's key characters and a new key character for this season.

Animosities from the Past
claudio_carvalho22 April 2008
In 1996, in the sophisticated boarding school Excelsior Academy, the outcast teenager Duncan is betrayed by his best and only friend Lex Luthor that wants to get close to the bullies Oliver, Alden and Geoffrey, leading Duncan to a tragic accident. Ten years later, in a school reunion, Alden has a mysterious fatal accident and then Geoffrey has another mysterious death. Oliver suspects of Lex, but when Lana has a serious accident in the Luthor mansion, Oliver tells Clark the fate of Duncan and Clark seeks Lionel to get more clarifications about what happened with the teenager.

In "Reunion", it is disclosed why Lex and Oliver are enemies. Their animosity and rivalry began more than years ago, when Oliver was a bully and Lex a disloyal teenager. At least, this experience affected Oliver, changing his behavior in the society and making him a good man. My vote is seven.

I loved this episode of Smallville.

Warning: Spoilers
Usually I don't watch Smallville but since Lucas Grabeel is in it I decided to check it out. It was awesome!! Lucas as Young Lex was really great (even if he had to shave his hair). The introduction to Oliver Queen was great too. Justin Hartley is amazing!! Lucas and Justin both played their parts really well (even if Lucas' was like 5 minutes). It seems weird that Duncan could do such damaging things even when in a vegetative state. It would have seemed that Lex was doing all the "accidental" killings, I love those unexpected endings. I am looking forward to future Smallville episodes now, like my favorite guy in the world Kyle Gallner is playing THE FLASH!
