Herve on a very good day
lor_7 April 2018
Dorcel's house director Herve Bodilis gets his fair share of razzing, given the vast number of mechanical, painting-by-the-numbers features he's cranked out for the French producer over the years. But "Two Sisters" is an exception, visually stimulating and rewarding on all counts.

The title siblings are don't-resemble each other Nina Roberts and Oksana, the former a lesbian, while the latter is married to a rich guy whose countryside chateau is magnificent. In fact, the production values in and around the estate take on the grandeur of the Taj Mahal compared to the lion's share of usual porn locations.

Bodilis' scenario is simple and effective in limning the constrasting sisters, Nina's difficulties with her selfish lover, the beautiful and highly erotic Daniela Schiffer, all leading to some solid plot twists and a most elegant orgy at the mansion. What in later years became boring cliches in Bodilis' work (d.p.'s, sexy black lingerie, light bondage and women subjugated by men) somehow come off fresh in this decade-earlier movie.
