Back on top form.
John is devastated to learn that Toby is getting upset ahead of his weekends, Wendy asks him to have a break from Toby, John decides to find out what's wrong.
I was fearful that this second series was going to fizzle out, perhaps losing some of its charm, but that isn't the case, this is a classic episode, perhaps the focus is back on the right areas. A good mix of funny and sad,.
We've got bits and bobs or that father, son relationship, most of this is spent on the subject, and it works. It's amazing how sport can be such a big thing for kids, for me it was cricket, absolutely detested it.
Plenty of funny moments throughout, Kirk is hilarious, he provides so many laughs. Best scene, Louise's glee at Sylvia's tortured story, the way she delights in her misery, she's quite something.
Classic episode.
8/10.
