Eminem‘s daughter Hailie Jade Scott has served as the rapper’s muse throughout much of his career, lighting the inner fire that elevated him from a dishwasher on the outskirts of Detroit to one of the biggest musical forces of a generation. More than just motivation, his daughter has provided lyrical inspiration, and even a guest verse or two over the years. Though relations have occasionally been strained between Eminem and Hailie’s mother, Kim Scott—as evidenced in a number of his songs—his bond with Hailie has never wavered.

[[tmz:video id="0_hjcmbda0"]] Cookie's assistant on "Empire" proved she's got her back in real life too by taking a jab at 50 Cent's mental health ... on the heels of him trash talking Taraji P. Henson. Ta'Rhonda Jones, who plays Porsha on the show, came on "TMZ Live" to talk about the new season ... and addressed Fiddy's repeated shots at "Empire." Her take on it was pretty awesome -- she went right after the rapper/TV producer and flat out called him a "weirdo.

Taraji P. Henson channeled her inner Cookie Lyons and fired back at 50 Cent. The rapper-turned-producer, 41, took to Instagram to share a screenshot of Henson, 46, with a headline claiming her show Empire's ratings were dropping. "Well look at the bright side at least. You can eat your trophies," 50 Cent in a since-deleted Instagram post, according to E! News. "I was talking to old girl but you felt like you had to respond. Smh you know I love you cookie. Cast members from Empire aren't staying quiet when it comes to 50 Cent's dig at their show. Just days after the season three premiere aired, the rapper took to Instagram where he shared a screenshot of Taraji P. Henson and a headline claiming Empire's ratings were down. “I’m so brave to be doing this.”
‘Rising Tides / Crashing Skies’ is that rare character study that offers insight without demanding that the audience render up sympathy. Ronaldo Fryman is a typical teenage boy in that, whether it’s acclaim or love, he believes the world owes him something. The faux-’Loose Change’ format of his delightfully awful tell-all documentary is the perfect showcase for his teenage insecurities. Ronaldo is so obviously his own worst enemy when it comes to making human connections and finding legitimacy as a journalist that it’s easy to chuckle at his constant misfortune. Revealing that the reason he’s so desperate to manufacture oddities and expose bizarre conspiracies is that he believes himself to be insufficiently interesting to draw attention is a smart move in terms of characterization.

It only makes sense, doesn.t it? I mean, are we supposed to believe that a lucky shot by a wet-behind-the-ears Jedi pilot named Luke Skywalker successfully hit the one vulnerable spot in the heart of the Death Star, destroying the moon-sized battle station and bringing a much needed victory to the Rebel Alliance? It.s just too good to be true . which explains the conspiracy theory that it had to be an inside job. The above video, which was shared on YouTube, was posted by Graham Putnam and modeled after the widely-circulated 9/11 conspiracy theorist documentary Loose Change. Dubbed Luke.s Change, the clever clip suggests that Darth Vader . Luke.s father . must have known something was up when he decided to leave the Death Star and pilot his own Tie Fighter. Good point, and also pretty hilarious. We.re swimming in Star Wars speculation these days, as Harrison Ford...

Was the destruction of the Death Star an inside job? Well, a new YouTube video sure wants you to believe it was. "Luke's Change" is a parody of the 9/11 truther video "Loose Change." In the video, creator Graham Putnam illustrates the connections between those who responsible for destroying the Death Star, siblings Luke and Leia, and the one person who survived the explosion, their father Darth Vader.
The video offers a humorous take on the style used in "Loose Change," but is also jam-packed with "Star Wars" trivia that might even impress the biggest of fans. Referring to the Rebel Alliance as a "terrorist organization," the video questions how Luke Skywalker, who wasn't a trained fighter pilot, was able to get close enough to blow up the Death Star with only one shot.
The faux-documentary even goes so far as to hint that the whole thing may be some sort of financial scam,...

Critics say the 'found-footage' film requires a suspension of disbelief to truly work.

"Apollo 18" is not a documentary — Nasa made a point of clearing that up — but that doesn't mean that a certain suspension of disbelief won't make the movie a terrifying experience.
The flick is just the latest to cash in on the found-footage premise made popular in 1999's "The Blair Witch Project," but it is the first to bring that filmmaking style to outer space. Some critics thought the premise worked in its new location, while others felt the film lost its momentum in the second hour.
The consensus is that it either will work for you or it won't; which way will you sway? Check out what the critics have to say and make your decision in theaters this weekend.

Organisers of the Tribeca Film Festival have announced this year's line-up of 60 short films, 22 of which are world premieres.
The international festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, producer Jane Rosenthal and real-estate investor Craig Hatkoff to help revitalise Manhattan's Tribeca neighbourhood following the 9/11 terrorist attack.
The 2011 event - presented by founding sponsor American Express - will run from April 20 to May 1. The 60 shorts represent 21 countries, including the UK, and feature stars from around the globe.
In a new development this year, the recipient of the Tff Best Narrative Short award will qualify for consideration in the Short Films category of the Oscars without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with Academy rules.
The short film program, drawn from 2,862 submissions, will be presented in eight thematic programs, which are detailed below.
There is a broad spectrum of styles and storytelling, from zombies taking over Manhattan to the humanitarian effort in Haiti.

A producer behind a controversial 9/11 documentary has been arrested on drug charges in New York. Korey Rowe, 27, was arrested alongside a 19-year-old man last week after they were busted allegedly selling heroin to an undercover police officer.
Rowe was arraigned on Friday, January 28 on a felony count of criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was released from Otsego County Jail after posting $10,000 bail.
Rowe hit headlines in 2006 for producing controversial documentary "Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup", which challenged the official explanation behind the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, blaming conspiracy theories instead.

I fully expected this penultimate episode of the series to accelerate full-force into the season finale next week. But it seems likely that we'll be left with more questions than answers and the empty promise of a second season pay-off. I'm not entirely sure "Rubicon" will make it past season one. I'm not wishing its demise, but I can't imagine there's a huge following after such a slow build, despite the to-die-for time slot. We make some big-time connections in episode 12, but we're only really getting to the core of the characters (and we've only got 60 more minutes to catch the bad guys and wrap up this circus -- the Atlas storyline can't sustain another season, in my opinion). It'll certainly be a shame if I never again type the name "Truxton" after next week.

It looks like Criterion isn’t the only name in town when it comes to director centric runs of DVD releases.
According to Cinematical (via The Playlist), San Francisco based DVD distributor Microcinema International has announced that they are set to not only round up a collection of films from cult filmmaker Alex Cox, but are set to release them on DVD.
Best known as the man behind cult hits like the film Repo Man and the fantastic former Criterion release, Sid and Nancy, the series of releases are set to delve deeper into this filmmakers rather interesting canon. The series includes Cox’s sort of but not really sequel to John Ford’s legendary film, The Searchers, called Searchers 2.0, as well as Cox’s Highway Patrolman, Death and the Compass, Three Businessmen, Revenger’s Tragedy, and Straight To Hell Returns, an update to Cox’s film, Straight To Hell.

Last month a documentary titled 11/4/08, about that historical date of Barack Obama's election, had its world premiere at SXSW (Cinematical unveiled the poster ahead of the fest). If you saw it there -- or if you'll be seeing it this weekend at the Sarasota Film Festival -- your experience of the film was not -- or will not be -- complete. It can be considered an unfinished film, though not in the same way that other works in progress screen at film fests and markets in order to acquire additional funding and/or pre-sale distribution deals. Rather, 11/4/08 is an ongoing project that's continuing to look for additional footage that may be affixed to or otherwise supplement the film.

The events of 11 September, 2001 continue to resonate for most of us. It's not a matter of never forgetting as much as always remembering. It also lingers for reasons that have very little to do with the horrific events of that day and, instead, deal directly with their shocking, sensationalized aftermath. Remember, we've gone to war because of it, turned our Constitution into a shell of its former self because of it, and played nation maker as an indirect byproduct of our desire to sweat out the enemy. Now, nearly a decade later, memories haunt us like the twisted…...

You can't address the state of indie film DVD-land without being bowled over by the cataract of activist documentaries, now made so cheaply and distributed so easily, assaulting the marketplace, and once you're standing on that battlefield, you're faced with the bedevilment of 9/11 conspiracy movies. As a core sample of the American soul, what could be more naked, more pertinent, more chilling? (Of course, if they're even ten percent correct in the theories they lay out, there is nothing more relevant anywhere on the sociopolitical table.)
Dylan Avery's "Loose Change," which has by now undergone a series of tweakings and editions and semi-sequels -- the most recent was released as "Loose Change: Final Cut," though "Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup" is slated for a September release -- is simply the latest Diy project in the genre and, it seems, the best informed. (Certainly, it lacks the burst-temple histrionics of Alex Jones' "Terrorstorm.

There’s no official word on whether or not Mariah Carey’s new single “Obsessed” is about Eminem, but there is plenty of evidence that suggests it. While it’s a catchy song and may end up being the summer jam of ‘09, it falls pretty flat as an Eminem dis.
Plenty of artists have attacked Em over the course of his 10-year career, and all of managed to fall flat on their faces. It’s not surprising, as Marshall Mathers is one of the most formidable battle rappers ever to storm on the scene (his schooling of Papa Doc at the end of “8 Mile” is pretty accurate). It also doesn’t help that most of the MCs who have gone after Em haven’t exactly been heavyweights. Does Mariah sit at the top of the heap? Here are the other contenders.
