Humour comes in small doses or it comes in a big bra as is the case with Katharyn Grant's funny short film.

Ms. Grant's sardonic writing skill in this short film is evident in the character that she portrays in the film. The short film while not quick paced in the sense of being slap stick, does a nice job of sampling the simple moments in life in an unique detail all its own. The Accoutrement (2006) is well directed by Ms. Grant, whose eye is clearly focused on the character's development.

Ms. Grant's character begs to be brought to screen again, and would be the perfect companion to Mister Bean.

Cute idea unfulfilled

I'm not sure what the point of this film was. Sure, we all know what men like, and the identity of "the accoutrement" was telegraphed at the beginning of the film in the coffee house. Couldn't miss it. It almost put my eye out.

Ms Grant had a very cute idea here, but from set up to delivery, it's obvious what will happen. Her acting is just fine, although I didn't see any reason for the fake English accent. The glasses seemed silly and unnecessary. Perhaps she felt they were needed to dull down her looks. I think her capable acting could have pulled this off without the prop.

Ms Grant's greatest talent seems to lie with her directing. I just wish her film was tighter and less obvious.
