During the growing beard shot, the ears on the Xyrophobe's prosthetic head belong to Matt Damon. Dan Martin, who carried out all prosthetics and FX, was working at Artem, who had just completed The Brothers Grimm (2005), starring Damon. Needing ears for the puppet and in a hurry, they were "borrowed" from a life cast of Matt.
