- "Pilot Fish" (robots disguised as Santa Claus) from 2005's Christmas special re-appear in this Christmas Special. Like the last time, they have flame-throwers disguised as brass instruments. However, they do not use them this time.
- The Pilot Fish find Donna's reception party and use controllers to attack the guests with exploding baubles. Furniture is destroyed but no one seems to be injured.
- The Empress' space-ships shoots out lightning bolts that cause lots of destruction. A little girl is almost killed by the lightning but is saved. Army tanks destroy the spaceship with rockets. No one seems to be injured or killed.

Violence & Gore
- Donna and Lance are wrapped in the Empress of the Racnoss' webs on the ceiling. The Empress cuts down Lance's webbing and he falls down a very large hole that apparently goes down to the centre of the Earth. It is implied that Lance is eaten by the Racnoss. You do not see it happening.
- Torchwood's secret base under the Thames Barrier is flooded in order to kill the Empress of the Racnoss's "children".
