After months of promoting the final season of S.W.A.T., CBS reversed course Thursday afternoon with the following announcement:
S.W.A.T. has been renewed for Season 8!
The news comes midway through what was previously teased as the seventh and final season.
As you’ll recall, S.W.A.T. was canceled a year ago, before the network walked it back a few days later with a renewal.
The latest twist comes as the hit Shemar Moore drama has been (carefully) wrapping up the storylines of some of the drama’s most beloved characters.
Kenny Johnson’s Luca was written out earlier this month. The character retired after revealing he wasn’t too keen on the idea of desk duty after an injury rendered him unfit to go out in the field with his team.
S.W.A.T. Season 7 is currently delivering huge ratings

Kendall Jenner & Bad Bunny Break-up: Exploring Their Relationship Timeline! (Picture Credit: Instagram & IMDb)
‘Tis is the damn season of heartbreaks! Adding to the list of Hollywood break-ups of 2023 that nobody saw coming are Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny who reportedly split quietly a few weeks ago. The speculations were further fueled by Kenny’s solo weekend spotting at Aspen, as she flew to spend some quality time with her friends in Colorado, and the Puerto Rican rapper was nowhere to be seen.
Making a fashionable appearance embracing the chic winter vibes, the supermodel was spotted wearing a giant fur coat, pantyhose and black flats. The reality TV star was also seen walking down the street on Friday, committed to having a good holiday, with her friends Lauren Perez and David Waltzer, with the group oozing cheerful festive vibes.
Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner had an amicable split, per The Messenger report.

“’The Deb’ is my type of movie — full of humour, full of heart, and uniquely Australian but with universal themes. It came out of my scholarship program at the non-profit Australian Theatre for Young People, a program that I’m very proud of and has had incredible success. If there was ever a movie I was going to direct, it would be this one,” said the actress. “This project is just so special and original.

The cast of Ava DuVernay’s latest film, inspired by Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents,” is now complete with the addition of Blair Underwood, Finn Wittrock, Victoria Pedretti, Isha Blaaker, Leonardo Nam, Donna Mills and Emily Yancy.

Lee and Clementine may be the de-facto leads of Telltale’s episodic series, but it’s Kenny’s story that has always stayed with me the most. At a casual glance, Kenny is portrayed as a stereotypical Florida hick. Fiercely protective of what’s his, quick to anger, and capable of selfish, stupid acts. As his story progresses, however, […]

Greenwich Entertainment has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the documentary feature Kenny Scharf: When Worlds Collide. The film is slated to debut in theaters and on digital platforms across the country on April 23.
The docu, which marks the directorial debut feature from Max Basch and Malia Scharf, made its world premiere last year at SXSW. Made over 11 years, the docu takes a look at the life of artist Kenny Scharf and features interviews and rare archival footage with Scharf, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Ed Ruscha, Dennis Hopper, Yoko Ono, Kaws, Marilyn Minter, and Jeffrey Deitch.
When Scharf arrived in New York City in the early 1980s, he quickly befriended Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. This trio changed the face of the art world with their works. While Basquiat and Haring both died tragically young, Scharf lived through cataclysmic shifts in New York City and the art world.

Sven Hjerson, the debonair Scandinavian master detective invented by crime writer Ariadne Oliver, a character in Agatha Christie’s novels, will get his own series, set in modern-day Stockholm.
In “Agatha Christie’s Sven Hjerson,” Hanna Alström plays Klara Sandberg, a former trash TV producer who successfully pitches a true-life crime show starring Hjerson, who would solve a real crime each week. The new show may reset Sandberg’s career and life, but the only problem is that she has never met Hjerson.
The show stars Johan Rheborg (“Kenny Starfighter”) as Hjerson. It will be comprised of four murder cases and broadcast as four films and an eight-episode TV series in the fall of 2021.
“The series will offer mystery, drama, puzzles; it’s not a comedy but will have a sense of humor and be a world that’s quite nice just to be in,” said Josefine Tengblad, head of...

Blame the coronavirus for this year’s drastically reduced roster of eligible Tony Award nominees, and Tony nominators for overlooking at least a few possibilities. Even with only 18 Broadway productions in the running for a 2020 award, feelings were bound to be hurt.
Let’s start with the good news: The list of nominees for the 74th Annual Tony Awards is a solid one, with no noticeable contenders – at least to my eye – sneaking in due to the decreased competition. Good luck to voters parsing their choices for one castmate over another – Sea Wall/A Life‘s Jake Gyllenhaal or Tom Sturridge? Slave Play‘s Ato Blankson-Wood or James Cusati-Moyer, and Chalia La Tour or Annie McNamara? Jagged Little Pill‘s Kathryn Gallagher, Celia Rose Gooding or Lauren Patten?
Of course we’ll never know how the list would be different if Six, West Side Story...

Twelve years after their breakout mockumentary hit “Kenny,” which followed a big-hearted plumber described as “the Dalai-Lama of Waste Management” as he touched the lives of many, brothers Shane and Clayton Jacobson are back with a very different kind of vehicle that nevertheless continues to showcase their distinctive, blue-collar sibling interplay. Though brimming with pitch-black comedy, “Brothers’ Nest” actually plays like more of an absurdist tragedy as it pits good brother against good-brother-gone-bad in a cautionary tale of longing and desperation that packs a surprisingly affecting punch.
In chilliest rural Victoria, mastermind Jeff and his nervous little brother Terry (Shane Jacobson) arrive early at the house in which they were raised. Ominously, they have to break in, and as they prepare for some kind of intricate crime, it is soon revealed that their plan involves murder most foul.

The Bourne Legacy
There are those action films that transcend their genre. Like Terminator. Robocop. The documentary Senna. That, through power of plot, character and some deep narrative yearning of soul become far more than the sum of their parts, and stay in the hearts of many more of us than just the 14-year-old boys who lay proper claim to them.
Jeremy Renner picks up the Bourne baton left by Matt Damon
The original Bourne trilogy sits comfortably within this bunch, and deserved a fitting spin-off. Instead, what it got was evidently the product of a meeting that consisted of "Ok, guys, sit down, I got the call. We got the rights to Bourne. Greengrass is out, Gilroy's in. So... anybody got any ideas?"
And it seems nobody did, so director Tony Gilroy was forced to polish off his pen that had created the original mould-breaking trilogy, and fill up an A5 page with plot.

Gil Evans, perhaps the second-greatest arranger in jazz after Duke Ellington, was born Ian Ernest Gilmore Green on May 13, 1912 in Toronto, Canada (Evans was his stepfather's name). Though best known for his collaborations with Miles Davis, Evans released many great albums as a bandleader and created a highly influential style that changed the course of jazz history.
Though self-taught, by age 21 Evans was leading a big band that became the house group at the Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa Beach. Eventually it was fronted and then led by singer Skinnay Ennis, and Claude Thornhill joined Evans in providing arrangements for them. Thornhill then moved to New York to start his own band, and in 1941 invited Evans to New York to write arrangements. Soon Evans's arrangements with their lush, hazy, floating textures defined the Thornhill style.

It seems to be taking forever (there’s something the ladies don’t hear too often), but the Three Stooges flick from The Farrelly Brothers (Something About Mary) is making some news again. Carrey, Del Toro and Pen are gone and now Johnny Knoxville, Andy Samberg and Shane Jacobson (Kenny, the aussie movie about the the porta-loo guy) are apparently on the list. While all are decent at what they do, particularly Knoxville and Jacobson does anyone else feel this is going to end up as a big pile of….Although, The Wrap reveals the following "The plan is to divide the PG-rated film into three, 27-minute segments driven by physical comedy, with a start date of March 14." So the audience will pay to go the flicks for 27 minutes? I thought that's what the adverts and trailers were for! Doesn’t sound like a good idea to me? How bout you?...

Johnny Knoxville, Andy Samberg and Aussie comic Shane Jacobson (‘Kenny’ and he hosts ‘Top Gear’ in Australia) are reportedly on 20th Century Fox’s shortlist to portray Moe, Larry & Curly in The Farelly Brothers’ big screen version of The Three Stooges. Talks have said to have been held.
That’s quite a come down from A-listers Sean Penn (Larry) Jim Carrey (Curly) and Benicio Del Toro (Moe) who were previously attached to this thing before MGM’s financial woes halted the production on more than one occasion and they bailed. The slapstick comedy has since changed hands to Fox and with a March 14th start date ever looming, I guess the new backers have to take what they can get casting wise.
And it certainly sends out a signal that Fox’s Stooges will be going in a different direction to MGM’s, skewing much younger with a cheaper cast...

Once upon a time, directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly had the three good actors to play the “The Three Stooges” with Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Jim Carry under the MGM banner. Now latter two of the three actors officially dropped out of the project and MGM has handed the project over to 20th Century Fox. According to TheWrap’s unnamed source, Fox has Johnny Knoxville, Andy Samberg and Australian comic Shane Jacobson on the short list. Last month, it was reported that Peter Ferrelly wanted to recast with “a major movie star or an unknown.” TheWrap also wrote, “Not only would Knoxville, Samberg and Jacobson appeal to younger audiences – there’s an entire generation (or two) that’s mostly unfamiliar with the Stooges, but they’re also more in line with the spirit of the original slapstick trio.” The film’s plan is to divide the PG-rated into...

Last Month, The Farrelly Brothers’ upcoming film in The Three Stooges found a new home at Twentieth Century Fox after MGM’s bankruptcy plan left the rights open (here). Bobby and Peter Farrelly stayed on as directors, but had to look for a completely new cast as Sean Penn and Jim Carrey recently dropped out (here), and it was uncertain if Benicio Del Toro was still attached. The directors have since been looking for actors to replace Carrey, Penn, and Del Toro, and it seems they may have found them.
The Wrap is reporting that Johnny Knoxville (Jackass, Men In Black 2), Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live), and Shane Jacobson (Kenny, Cactus) are on the shortlist for the roles of Moe, Larry and Curly. Last month [1], the feature film version of The Three Stooges moved from the struggling MGM to 20th Century Fox, along with writer/directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly. Once attached stars Jim Carrey [2], Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro were long gone but with the change of studio, the movie once again had a pulse. That pulse is now quickening according to The Wrap who reports that "advances have been made, representatives have been approached and discussions have taken place" for Johnny Knoxville, Andy Samberg and Australian comedian Shane Jacobson to play Moe, Larry and Curly. Read more after the jump. The Wrap quotes [3] an agency insider about the possible casting of the blockbuster comedy, which would ideally start production in March. With Jackass and Saturday Night Live respectively, Knoxville and Samberg each have plenty of experience in both the physical and comedy realms that would be necessary to play a good Stooge.

Shane Jacobson may refer to himself as "the man who ate Billy Crystal," but the Kenny star and Top Gear Australia host brought much of his musical theatre experience to the role of AFI host for this year. Probably still best known for that lovable Aussie Kenny in the highly successful 2006 film, Jacobsen welcomed the opportunity to sing for the broadcast with opening number, George and Ira Gershwin's They Can't Take That Away From Me. "They went, ‘Do you want to get up and do a song.' And we said, ‘yes.' So we kind of came up with an idea to They Can't Take That Away From Me and sort of blending it in with the nominees.

Glenn Dunks was at the AFI Awards 2010, and although his favourite film didn’t win any, he will always remember the night Animal Kingdom ruled the world.
And with that the 2010 Samsung Mobile AFI Awards are over and done with for another year. David Michôd’s Animal Kingdom dominated the ceremony as everybody expected, but the refreshingly diverse roster of Australian films from 2010 brought about winners from period romances to action adventures, musicals to vampire horror films. Of the six projects nominated for Best Film only one – Julie Bertuccelli’s poetic The Tree, my personal favourite Australian film of 2010 – left empty handed.
Host Shane Jacobson, of Kenny fame, began the proceedings with a musical sequence that referenced Australian films past and present before what can politely be called “the Animal Kingdom show” commenced, quickly winning several awards.
The crowd, and fellow recipients, were high on Ben Mendelsohn’s win, his...

Presided over by revered actress Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) and presented by fellow Aussie actors Alex Dimitriades (Summer Coda), Gyton Grantley (Underbelly) and AFI Ambassador Cate Blanchett, the AFI Awards nominations were announced this week. Weaver, who stepped into hosting duties for an unavailable Catherine McClements, had the right amount of finesse and comedic timing to ensure the announcements were entertaining. She quickly struck up a rapport with the now smitten Shane Jacobson, whose ahem... smooth moves failed to impress the actress. Star of the hit comedy Kenny, Jacobson will host the award ceremony itself, scheduled for December 11 at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne.

With the release of Dslr cameras that can shoot in full HD, the screen industry stumbled unwittingly upon a new age of cinematography and many are following. Micah Chua found that producing good quality picture doesn’t need to be as expensive as it once was.
When Canon released the 5D Mark II with full HD video capabilities in late 2008 for photojournalists to accompany their stills with moving images, nobody had really predicted what would follow. It wasn’t the first camera to possess this capability – that honour goes to Nikon – but certainly it was the one that started a revolution.
“It’s exploded into a videographer subculture”, said Sony’s product specialist in digital imaging, Sean Ellwood.
But subculture may be an understatement. A wide variety of screen industry practitioners and filmmakers ranging from low budget independents through to top end international studio networks have caught on to the...

Shane Jacobson has revealed that his on-screen kiss with Holly Valance was "strange". The Australian actor, who is best known for playing plumber Kenny in the film of the same name, said that he got on really well with co-star Valance during the filming of Surviving Georgia. Jacobson told the Aap: "During shooting, my partner was nine months pregnant and about to give birth to what now is our daughter, so larking about kissing Holly Valance was quite (more)...

Shane Jacobson is a brilliant character actor. Like a modern day Peter Sellers, he can walk into a role and embody it with absolute believability. His first film, Kenny, embodied Jacobson's ability to completely absorb himself in the life of the character. In fact, he was so believable many confused the film with a documentary. The character of Kenny gave Jacobson the opportunity to travel Australia with the release of the film, and the world for the Channel 10 program Kenny's World, but his new character, Mordy Koots, will see him exploring the world of a World War 2 American fighter pilot.
