Low budget, underground gem - a future classic short!
DVD_Connoisseur21 August 2006
Toutes Les Francais Sont Putains. No, this isn't a declaration of xenophobia from this greying Brit, it's the name of Matthew Reel's new short. Reel (American Asshole, The Goat Sucker) has already built up a reputation as a quality director of very low budget gems from the underground stable.

TLFSP is, simply put, an awesome short! It's a very dark, gripping film...funny but, at the same time, genuinely uncomfortable viewing. In terms of the style, TLFSP looks beautiful and the soundtrack's excellent. The director achieves an impossible amount of scope from a budget of $450.

Turning to the cast, it has to be said, the delectable Elske McCain is an extremely watchable screen siren. For fans of Ms. McCain (The Goat Sucker's dancer) this short is a must-see. If you thought you'd seen everything following Russ Myer's tales of taunting bombshells, wait to you see what Elske has in store for the hero of this piece.

Luke Rook's agonising, bloody trek is one of the most painful pieces of celluloid comedy I've ever witnessed - you feel like you're with him, every painful step of the way. Superbly acted, this is a unique and unforgettable experience.

This new short is extremely recommended viewing for all fans of underground / indie movies! In fact, if you're reading this, just go and seek out this DVD. You won't regret it.

I've said it before and i'm sure I'll be saying this again, I predict very big things from Matthew Reel in the future. The talent and imagination behind this film is impossible to miss...
