A Disjointed Comedy
crossbow010622 April 2008
This film is about a playboy type who spends his grandfather's money at will, till the grandfather cuts him off and takes him out of his will. He'll put him back in if he becomes a high school teacher for two years. So, like magic, he becomes one. He meets up with another young teacher there So-Ju, played by the kind of pretty Hyo-jin Kim. She, of course, is quite serious about her profession, so they clash. Do they fall in love eventually? There are many problems with this film, not least of which is its complete silliness in concept. You wouldn't want this guy teaching your children. That could have made for an indeed wacky comedy, but its not really funny. I think Hyo-jin Kim is too good for this film, she has a freshness that is wasted here. If you like this kind of silly film, watch it, it has English subtitles. I'd skip it, though.
