Stunningly bad
robwicks7 September 2007
I expected this DVD to be at least decent, since it had a far better cast than many direct to video movies. This film, however, never failed to disappoint. There are more holes than plot here. The acting is so bad that the lines seem to have been ad-libbed. It is an amazing feat to have a cast so good in a movie so bad.

The initial premise is decent enough, but there is almost no character development. All the characters seem wooden, and little connection is made to any of them. The facial expressions and mannerisms of the characters is more annoying than anything else. Lynn Whitfield's character is more than a little creepy. Woodbine seems to have been ad-libbing his lines, and sounds unnatural in the role.

As I watched this movie, I found myself wishing grisly ends upon every character. This is truly a wretched effort at film-making.

Expecting More
devince214 July 2008
I really wanted to like this film, but I just couldn't. . This film was really awful. I've seen several made for video movies with a predominately black cast.Practically all of these movies are shot with extremely low budgets and none of the typical frills that you find in theatrical releases. However there are still far too few roles, other than those that are typecast, for black actors and these movies do provide them with starring roles that they would not get in any other films. The vast majority of these sort of movies are not really good, and the truth is that my expectations are usually low when the cast is mostly unknowns as well as the people behind the camera. When I saw that this movie starred, among others, Tamela Jones, Bokeem Woodbine, Lynn Whitfield, Roger G. Smith, etc., I thought this would be a cut above the rest. Wrong. The only reason I watched the whole thing was because I kept telling myself that it has to get better. Alas, it never did. As much as I want to support my brothers and sisters in the art form of movies, it's got to be better than this. You can have a decent script even without a big budget. This movie certainly had recognizable names, but nothing else.

There isn't enough here to make it worth your time

I recently watched Confessions of a Call Girl (2006) on Tubi. The storyline follows a married woman obsessed with having sex for money behind her husbands back. She's had this addiction long before she met him, but as the husband's business expands and involve highly successful clientele, he may just run into some of her customers. Can the wife keep her secret or will she be exposed?

This movie is written and directed by Lawrence Page (Statistic: The Movie) and stars Bokeem Woodbine (Crooklyn), Lynn Whitfield (Eve's Bayou), Tamala Jones (Booty Call), Clifton Powell (Ray) and Roger Guenveur Smith (He Got Game).

This movie is an absolute disaster in just about every way; which is too bad, because they had a magnificent cast that could have pulled this film off. The storyline is painful, the interaction are awkward and there didn't seem to be an authentic chemistry by the cast. So many scenes felt unnatural. The dialogue wasn't particularly good causing the actions to not match the feel of the scene. The ending was the best part of the movie, but what it took to get there made the entire movie make you feel like you couldn't wait for it to end.

In conclusion, there isn't enough in here to make it worth your time. I would rate this a 2/10 and recommend skipping this movie.

Precious minutes of my have been wasted......
LARRYLOVE71116 October 2007
.......watching this worse than awful, painfully terrible piece of garbation. I hate to trash art... but this deserves it.

I can't believe Tamala Jones decided to go topless for THIS??? I knew watching this movie that it was shot in less than 2 weeks.. but I had no idea it was 9-days. There must have been some decent money offered for a 9-day shoot (think about it... possibly $50K for 9-days work or less?).

Clifton Powell, one of my favorite actors... wasted in this film. Same goes for Lynn Whitfield, Robert G. Smith. Who in the world was the actress that was cast in the role of Cathy? A castaway from Flavor of Love?

This movie plain old sucked.

Don't waste any time at ALL watching this.

I DIDN'T TAKE TIPS
nogodnomasters18 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This could be seen as the African-American version of "The Girlfriend Experience". A call girl relates stories of her kinky clients to her psychoanalyst and tries to juggle her career with her home life with a husband who yells at her for missing PTA meetings.

The dialogue, script, acting, directing, and editing are below a college 101 project. Characters are thrown at you. At one point our call girl said she didn't accept tips and only accepted what she charged. Apparently the writer knows nothing about the escort service where everything is a tip. I was reluctant to write a review out of embarrassment of having to admit I watched this film.

F-bombs, sex, no nudity.
