Season Two starts with a bang

David Cross and Bob Odenkirk return with their own special brand of kooky dark humor with this first episode for the second season of their cable TV show. The program declares itself a sovereign nation with hilariously catastrophic results that include a TV news anchor and a reporter covering the event live getting into a fierce shouting match over the lack of exciting action. The sketch with David making a clumsy attempt to smuggle weed through U. S. customs is absolutely hysterical. Ditto the inspired sadistic sketch about the 8-in-1 pan which gives a mean British jerk an excuse to savagely abuse a poor lady (a game turn by Jill Talley). The parody of a fight back against crime series likewise hits the sidesplitting spot. Very funny stuff.
