And the happily family remains
salhy-4088223 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Eric is very the one with the most sense, the one who's making everything for everybody to feel pleased and belonging, his quote reflected so much what he truly is behind all that loony mask is always pitting on. When we got friendship, we just tended to take them for granted and think a little argue is just gonna be a little argue and nothing's gonna split the bound up, the biggest mistake ever which will have blown so many friendships in History humanity. Only Eric got the sense to get that right and had make everything to fix things up with all his friends forming a solid family, yep friends are the family with choose to have on our lives and we should not forgotten about it. The little scenario of what thinks could have turned if they didn't make things up was depressing : everybody loosing touch to each other including Shawn and Cory which were the bottom line of that fight and I mean come one, it's unthinkable to think of them loosing touch so seeing it was really hurtful. Jack and Eric loosing touch to each other making Jack becoming a cold corporate man without the sweetness and warmth Eric was giving him in his life and Eric becoming really a loony and only for jock having loosing touch with Jack the one putting his feets on the ground when it was necessary, depressing for both oh them if you ask me. Cory and Topanga still married but not that happily despise having a little baby meaning making Topanga abandoned her career and spreading resentful between them, Rachel returning with her trashy ex boyfriend living in Texas which ended by a divorce and her totally messed up. And the worst for me a lift before the Eric/Jack fall downs : Shawn and Angela broken up, making the same job and looking up to each other without daring near each other but without trying others relationship meaningful letting them craving to each other and live an life with an awful feeling of loneliness and incomplete life. It was so depressing seeing that especially the last quote of Shawn telling he had blown everything letting her go again, what kind of sick scenario is this ? Really touching end seeing them fix things up just accepting each other's feelings and ended messing up all together.

As it should be

Warning: Spoilers
This is another favorite episode of the show and to me one of their last best ones from their final season, let along to me this is also another dark episode for the show. You can say this is "Boy Meets World" doing "Marvel's: What If" as we see the dire results when everyone makes the worst mistake of their life.

It all starts out innocently from a prank war; yeah, that's how it always starts in a way much like only a few rocks that just roll down the mountain but then discover too late those rolling rocks were just part of a big avalanche. And that's exactly what happens this prank war turns ugly and become no laughing matter for anyone. When this happens certain negative feelings for everyone just start to surface.

One of the things I like about this episode is Eric is the main protagonist of the episode, Eric is a very smart guy that beats to a different drummer, this to me make him have the best observations and instincts. Which is why right before things heated up, he saw there was a serious problem going on with his fellowship and something needs to be down before there's a nuclear meltdown.

Eric does the right thing when he gets everyone in a meeting to talk things out and get them all to engage in a writing exercise. But of course, the talk doesn't go well and despite how much time goes by nobody does anything except waste it. We then see Rachel leave and from seeing Jack, Shawn, Topanga, Angela, and Cory, all letting it happen I thought, "What the hell are you all sitting and standing there for do something, now!"

That one person leaving is when the worst-case scenario starts, which I'll admit was really dark and downright depressing which is the point.

As we see what happens to everyone years latter which is also strangely prolific as to what happen to the characters in "Girl Meets World" though for the better thankfully. But back to business, we see everyone having lives of their own but not very good lives as no one has really moved on or should I say move on the right direction.

Everyone has become a shell of themselves; Jack is a successful businessman and made his fortune but even money can't fill that void of unhappiness he carries, Rachel well let's just say she's a mess. Cory and Topanga are still together but not happily; Cory has just become more passive, we hear Topanga didn't get the career she desired which made her resentful but worst of all their love for each other is dying, both are just holding onto something that doesn't exist anymore.

One highlight is Eric who was just hilarious at first, this really got a loud reception as we saw him dressed up like Moses. It's funny and kind of sad as we discover how off his rocker Eric has become. But the laughs stop when he hands Jack a book about the size of a single volume of "Game of Thrones" but their all blank except for one line on the first page which was the time when everything went wrong, while all the blank pages represent the life Eric never let himself live.

However, this one really killed me the most, Shawn has traveled and became a photographer but never could find another same with Angela and we hear both have sometimes found each other and came close but never connected. It's really sad it's like both of them had every chance but never taken it, it's the same with everyone else. We see near the end of this scenario everyone is now asking themselves that questions they've probably occasionally, asked themselves, "What the hell happened, where did it all go so wrong, why does it have to continue?"

From all of this we see the importance of their dynamics, how important each of the characters are in balancing each other out. From Eric being in Jack's life showing more to life than money, Shawn being in Cory's life which helps him be more aggressive and not just go with the flow of things but to always find another river to ride. Shawn and Cory's time together gives Topanga the freedom and independence she needs to do whatever she desires like having girl time with Angela and Rachel. And so on and so forth as the dynamics go.

This scenario just goes to show how the very problem they didn't resolve and chose to ignore didn't go away, it became a disease that stayed with them and destroyed each of them.

We then come back to the present and this time things play out differently as Eric shows some guts doing what one to all of them should have done in the first place. He then brings Rachel back into the room for her own good and then gets her to read what Eric has written which easily sums up what's about to happen. Really like the last things he says to all of them which is profound, and this motivates all of them to do the right thing for themselves. It all result in a touching moment when they all get into a pile up hug, which puts a smile on my face knowing that everything is as it should be.

The episode also has a good message about the importance of mending friendships and reenforcing them before it's too late. But also, just the importance of having friends in one's life, no matter how close or far they are, they must always be in your life and heart.

Rating: 4 stars.

Nonsense

Just don't what's happen to this show this season, it's like the writers have just given up.

These guys are friends for life; they'd never fall out over something soo trivial.

Hopefully it's all back to normal by the next episode.
