A Must See
natkat_95427 July 2006
The characters depicted in this film were tried and true. I loved how all the characters and their stories connected subtly with each other. The movie really places the viewer in the situations of these struggling and serious actors, directors, producers...using tongue and cheek humor. These eleven stories of striving and starving "Underdogs" has a wonderful comedic backbone. I particularly loved The "Tricky Ricky" vignettes. The entire assemble cast, such as Andrew Cassese as the high strung director, were all hilarious. It was wonderful to see him in this film for he is such a talent coming along way since Revenge of the Nerds. This independent film needs to be shown on Bravo and the IFC channel.

Quirky, comic and colorful

A quirky little gem with great writing and great comic moments. Who would have thought that G. Gordon Liddy could pull this one off. And the drunk rabbit steals the show. Go tricky Ricky! I wonder whether these stories are from personal experience because as they say- reality is stranger than fiction. Or otherwise the scriptwriter has a very vivid imagination. I also enjoyed the vignette format and wish there were more films that worked with this structure. It's like seeing eleven different movies. Great performances and some inspired casting made me feel that this film could really take off. So in my books, this is the kind of indie film that has cult potential and the laughs came thick and fast.
