- Santa's best kept secret is that fairies help him track all the children on the "Naughty and Nice" lists. Fairies travel between the North Pole and the real world by using the pictures that hang in children's rooms as "windows." Shaily, a newcomer, is warned by Arabelle not to talk to any of the children, just to watch and mark which list they belong to. Shaily's first assignment is Leah Carpenter. Leah has moved to a new city and a beautiful new house. She attends the last day of school in hopes of making new friends before Christmas. It seems that Leah's wish will come true when Courtney, one of the popular girls, and her two friends invite themselves over. During a game of hide and seek; Courtney stumbles upon unwrapped presents hidden by Leah's devoted parents. Jealous, Courtney commands that no one can be Leah's friend. Leah overhears and is devastated. In her room, she stands in front of her favorite painting and wishes that she had friends, "instead of these silly presents". Shaily, who is watching, checks off "nice" beside Leah's name. As Shaily is about to move on, she sees Leah in tears. Despite the rules, Shaily can't resist and pops out of the picture to introduce herself to a very surprised Leah. Leah and Shaily quickly become fast friends. Although it is not allowed, Shaily takes Leah through the painting into the fairy world. Shaily also takes Leah to observe Leah's classmates. Leah encourages Shaily to look deeper before reaching a judgment. Shaily listens and ends up putting all the girls on the "Nice" list, even Courtney. Just as Shaily is about to return Leah to her room, they are caught by Arabelle who decides to play a trick on Shaily, switching Courtney and her companions to the "Naughty" list. It's Christmas Eve when Shaily finds out what Arabelle has done. Shaily and Leah hurry to Santa's workshop. Unfortunately he has already left on his Christmas present run. Leah decides she will give out the presents that her parents have hidden. Shaily and Leah travel through the paintings in each of the girl's houses, leaving presents for all of them. On Christmas Day Santa learns the truth from a guilt-ridden Arabelle and discovers that Leah and Shaily have left the perfect gift for each girl. He sends Arabelle to tell Courtney of Leah's sacrifice. Alone in her room Leah sits wishing she still had her friend Shaily to talk to. Suddenly Courtney appears wanting to make amends. Courtney tells Leah that she has a special gift for her and leads her into the living room where all the children from her new class have arrived to celebrate Christmas. Through a painting in the living room, Leah can see Shaily with Santa Claus and the rest of the fairies having a party of their own. Now Leah has her Christmas wish - friends. A Very Fairy Christmas is a magical fantasy-adventure for friends from all generations.—Waterfront Entertainment
